DB15 to DB15 cable which is pretty much a VGA cable
-
For this issue, i reccomend using a vga extension cable. It seems to work well and make camera connections more convenient as you are no longer connecting cameras to the back of the card. Also makes for a neater install.

I have one gv-900-16 available. It has been replaced by the GV-1240-16 however because for a little more $, you get an integrated DSP with composite output, and as many audio channels as there are video channels on the card.

Looking for a distributer

you know what though scott? honest information, that is what this forum is about. way to get to the point! -
The biggest complaint we have received is the quality of remote viewing. The quality of the remote viewing is directly affected by the quality settings of the unit locally, which is strange for a dvr. The only other issues have been when the unit has been set up improperly and has always been fixed by a reformat. The OS needs to run off the hard drive and most people don't realize that because it is not clear in the manual.

pretty good unit with some nice remote and local features does not have a web based remote view does have a remote based client software
-
andy geovision will work with you. if you can get the protocol command files from the manufacturer of the camera, they will write it into their software for you i am waiting to hear back from Everfocus in regards to their VPTZ1000 sal http://www.digitalwatchguard.com

Yes the new Nuvico domes are excellent. They improved on their original day/night domes by reprogramming the sensitivity at it which they switch to night mode. They are also Super High Res I have also been getting great review on their DV2 Series DVRs sal http://www.digitalwatchguard.com

I must say it works very nice locally and remotely. Anyone else try it? Sal http://www.digitalwatchguard.com

the hbrid card is only worthwhile when the user needs DVD quality and viewable recordings...however, it is awful on conservation of storage space It is Mpeg2, not Mpeg4 or H264 It works with everything except the GV-900 series Geovision will over a H264 codec (software based) soon with verision 7.1
-
Oops..just saw the other post, guess this is old news already. Their cards are still good.
-
anytime...glad it is working!
-
can you e-mail me the IP so I can test something?
-
Starting at about noon, (lunch will be served)... check in with me to confirm
-
Have you set a static 192.168.xx.xx IP address on the dvr itself to assure that you are forwarding the ports to the correct machine?

Experiences with Nitek UTPLink products?
sal replied to scottj's topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
Depends on specs and manufactuers. The Baluns from VBU, have built in surge protection. Think we sell them for like *** http://www.digitalwatchguard.com/securitycameras/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=313&idproduct=1335 -

There little LCD is defintely cool, and their box cameras are also good. Their new EDR 1680 is packed with some crazy specs but is a bit pricier than the rest of their dvrs They will be demonstrating the EDR 1680 and some of their other products in my NY showroom on Sep 8. PM me if anyone is interested. There are 24 seats avail. Sal http://www.digitalwatchguard.com

I recommend Everfocus DVRs only when the client does not really care too much about remote viewing and wants to keep the price low They do not use enough resources (CPU, etc) to support remote viewing For local recording and economics the units are ok...for remote viewin and features check out something else (Nuvico, GE, DM, blah, blah, blah) sal http://www.digitalwatchguard.com
