The Real Time Display Card outputs composite video from the DVR minus the graphical interface. It also displays all video on the main system in real time reguardless of the card in the system. It has no effect on the recording rate of the system. A video card with secondary output would display the video with the interface.
Shortly the DSP card will allow you to control it like a Spot Monitor, so in essence you can display different video out of the DSP card then being shown on the main system. Until then, the DSP card displays whatever is being displayed on the main GV system, minus the interface.
Your other option, of course, is to use a quad or multiplexer with loop through per channel.
