  1. I purchased the Lorex LNC254 because I thought it would make it convenient to see and talk with strangers who come to our door. I was able to connect the unit with my Android phone via Wi-Fi after several tries. Apparently I confused their meaning of camera to mean my phone camera. Wish they had just said "Lorex camera" or "device" or "unit" instead. It appears that they have tried to make the process of linking up to the LNC254 as simple as possible but in my opinion they have just made it more confusing. Unfortunately I found the Lorex web videos to be useless for my needs. By the way the LNC254 frame rate drops to the single digits when using Wi-Fi and for some reason I could not listen to the audio from unit on my Android phone. Although I could talk via my phone through the unit. The camera controls for pan and tilt were sluggish to the point of being almost useless. Also the image kept switching back and forth from the "day" camera to the "night" camera which was very annoying. Tech support is very slow, sent an email (create a ticket) six hours ago, expect a reply tomorrow? Installation of the unit outside of the house will require an electrical outlet and an ethernet cable so I'll have to take some time and figure out how I'll route the cables and connectors. On the other hand now that I've read my post I'll just return the LNC254 and look for a better product.
