    DVR HDD problems

    Hi, I recently inherited a 16 channel DVR with a 2 TB HDD. Unfortunately, I cannot identify who the manufacturer or the model of the dvr. Also unfortunately, the hard drive appears to have a problem. The dvr was reporting that it could not find the hard drive. Can I pull it out and put it in my tower and have windows to format it to lock down any bad sectors and put it back in the dvr? If not would I be able to put a new hard drive in the dvr? Thanks in advance.
