Hello all - New to the forum here.
As the head of my community neighborhood watch program, I am wanting to install some kind of camera at the entrance of our neighborhood. I would like to be able to access the camera via the web/smart phone - It would be great if anyone in the neighborhood could access it as well but that isn't a requirement. With that being said I have 2 questions.
There are a couple of houses close to the entrance - not sure if they have WiFi or not. Would my only option be to have it connect through their WiFi or are there alternative means for connectivity?
Secondly, could someone recommend a camera(s) that would be suitable for this application? I'm not looking for super high definition or to spend a thousand dollars but I understand you get what you pay for. My budget would be in the $300 - $500 range (if that's even possible).
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.
