8 CH 240FPS 120GIG CDRW NET -- $3000
karnisar posted a topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
I am looking at a PC based system - company called Optiview out of FL. Their systems are all made in Asia but they stick their sticker on them. I get to do the install myself and they gurantee the product for a year. Their website is: They would not tell me the name of the original manufaturer. Their asking price: 1. 8 CH 240FPS 120GIG CDRW NET --$3000 2. 3.5-8mm Color Varidome cameras -- $159.00 each Anybody out there have any experience with this product? Do the prices look reasonable and do you think the product will be reliable and effective? They do have a demo on their web-site but I wasn't able to access it which is not a good indication. Sorry for the cross-post. -
I bought four cameras from a business that was closing down and I am trying to find out if they will work with a 120 gig 120 fps DVR that I am planning to purchase. Camera Model SDC-2304NA. Markings on the lens are: Vista CCTV lens 4mm F1.2 Japan. The chips inside all say Sony. The cover has the following markings on the sides and rear: Digital Color camera Made in Korea. On the back it has: Inputs for a BNC plug. It also has two screws than can be turned one says DC level and the other V Phase. It also has 7 switches which can be set either at OFF or at : A1 A2 A3 AGC ESC BLC FL and an eigth switch whose settings are INT or L.L It has another switch that can be set at DC or Video. There is a 4 hole input that has Lens written under it. I could find only one reference to it on the internet: http://www.securitybase.com/Web_store/Html/Products/sdc2304.html Can you gurus out there tell me what you make of the cameras?

I guess what I really want is to understand what those figures actually mean. My lens on my cameras have two little handles by which one can rotate them, one for open/close and the other to adjust near/far. Are most lens normally like that or do some also come with the capabilty to adjust them remotely. That's a lot of questions, but you guys have the answers, and I am grateful for this forum for the opportunity to get them, and to Google for directing me to your site.

The system is for use in a retail environment - convenience store with gasolene. I stand corrected on the price quoted on the DVR. The price for a 8 CAM 120FPS 120GIG unit is $1899 and for a 8 CAM 240FPS 120GIG is $2499. There are always some lights on inside the store even after closing. Thanks. -

Its for a retail business. Requirements are: 1. Employees do not take anything out of the register that they should not. 2. Ditto for merchandise. 3. Ditto for customer actions. 4. As a deterrent for would be criminals. 5. Be clear enough during replay to identify persons, actions and vehicles. 6. It needs to run 24 hours but can be set on motion detection -- which will be really good for only about 4 hours during the night 7. A weeks worth of recording capacity would be great but I can live with less. 8. I need to be able to monitor from home. I will need two cameras outside and 6 inside. I can do the install myself but want to make sure that my investment is protected. The quote I got was including installation.

I have been given a quote for the 80 gig version : $3500. $400 for the each camera(pretty expensive). He says his only margin is on the color Dome cameras and not on the DVR.

I am looking for a CCTV system for a gas station and the budget is very tight. However, since I already have an XP box for other work(P4,40G,512) I started exploring the possibilty of buying a cheap DVR card and hook up 4 cameras to it. I think, after doing this research, that the computer I have in mind will not be adequate, and that I also need a dedicated one. Am I right? I have also found a DVR card on sale on ebay-what are your comments on it? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=48634&item=3061181449 It can also be viewd at: http://www.tailand.com.cn/eshop/te104.htm While we are at it, what do you think of his cameras: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=48640&item=3062138682 -

This is from their website: The company recognized over the last 45 years in the market as CSi/Speco/Provideo/Emco/ Components Specialties, Inc. has been developing new strategies and new solutions, and with them, a new name. Our original names suited us well in each individual market we serve. These markets are clearly converging, and the company's mission has adapted. Therefore, to take full advantage of the opportunities open to us, we sought out a single name that reflects our special attitudes and aptitudes as a technology innovator. That name is Speco Technologies. -

"You might want to look into a more simple embedded system". Well, its too late for that since I already have a computer and I am hoping to put that into use. -
