You answered yourself.

If you will find a way how to do it, please share it here, I was looking around this too but was unable to come up with anything... By the way the filename is easily reconstructable, it's just channel name and start and end times of the video, which you set when exporting it.

What problems do you have with using it through browser? I don't have any, and it works with Chrome as well. I would never use the cloud (i.e. the goolink app), as streaming all your cameras through some unknown chinese server is just ridiculous. But that's anyone's call.

Isn't backup backing up to the drive or flash disk connected to the NVR? When I was trying it, I connected flash disk to the NVR and backup (through the NVR gui) was backing it up to the flash disk. I haven't tried it through the browser or software though.

I have the N6200-8E The newer firmware has some issues so I don't want to upgrade it.
-
I have a feeling that it's overriden by the camera settings, I have observed something similar. I haven't examined it deeply yet though.
-
Have you tried to format it directly from the NVR, or remotely from the web browser? If you haven't tried it locally, you could try that. Do you actually see the drive in the NVR correctly? Also the HDD has to be connected during the boot, if you connect it after you boot the NVR, you might need to restart it for the HDD to work correctly.
-
Strange... Well it works with my camera. Regarding the format, I'm not sure if it says something after successful format, but you can try to attach the HDD to the computer, if you will see just a few GB partition, it's formated correctly.

Port 80 is just plain HTTP port, the other port is important. In my case it's 34567 (I suppose you made a mistake, port 234567 can't be correct, the highest port number possible is 65535) and it works with this port. Also make sure to include correct username/password. I'm not sure about your second question though... Recordings are stored at the local HDD, so even if no camera is connected, the already recorded footage is available for replay. Of course it's not possible to record anything while there is no camera available (thus nothing to record). Regarding the HDD format, you need to format it through the NVR menu. It uses its own format and when you format it and connect to the regular computer, you only see a very small portion of the HDD (a few gigabytes if I remember correctly), the remaining part of the drive where recordings are stored is not visible, if I understand correctly it's simply writing the data sequentially without a regular filesystem, but that's not important for you.

Hi, check the port number in for the camera in the NVR settings and see if it's the same as set in the camera. I also had problems in getting the cameras work with I12 until mirko helped me with it. I suppose you are having the same problem. I haven't even changed the port in the camera settings, but somehow the NVR puts a different port there during the detection.

Do you record them 24/7 or do you get motion detection on rtsp streams as well? Motion detection does not work with RTSP streams.
-
I have re-applied the RTSP patch and RTSP streams finally work!

Default is no password

If I remember correctly, someone has complained about the 20151231 firmware earlier in this thread and was trying to downgrade to the older one, so I suppose it's better to stay off this one.
-
Well that's strange... I have the same firmware, also applied the rtsp fix and yet it doesn't work for me. Where did you download the patch? I might try to reapply it (hopefully it will not break anything).

I received my Xiaomi Ants camera a couple days ago, it works fine on RTSP. Are you sure you're using the correct url? You can specify one for main and another one for substream. The format is rtsp://IP:PORT/FILE (without rtsp:// it didn't work). I used the web gui. It's not really suited for RTSP streams and it'll show port 0, but since the port is in the url its not a problem. Good luck! Yes, I have several working streams that work with VLC or any other player but don't work on NVR. What firmware version do you have on the NVR?
-
I have tried various RTSP streams from different devices and none of them worked on NVR.
-
You don't understand. I don't care about RTSP stream on camera, that works when I view it through regular player (e.g. VLC). But working RTSP stream does not work when I add it to NVR. I wanted to add some older camera's RTSP stream (that works) to NVR, since the camera does not have I12 or Onvif, but it does not work in NVR.
-
The stream from camera works, it just doesn't work when I add it to the NVR using RTSP (as opposed to Onvif/I12)
-
RTSP does not work at all for me, I've tried several RTSP streams from cams and other devices... See my previous messages. It simply doesn't work at all.
-
I12 works fine for me, it's just that patmas wrote that it stops working after some time. However I was only trying that with a blank/no password so good to know that if it might not work correctly with the password set.
-
What protocol do you have the camera connected with? Onvif or I12? It seems it's fine for me with I12, however, I have not tested it for an extended period of time so far, since I don't use it yet, I have bought it for a new house where I don't live yet. So it might be that it will get stuck after a couple of days with I12 as well, but when I was testing it for a few hours, it appeared to be working correctly (and I can even set the motion area from within the NVR). After reading this, I might keep it running for a few days or a week to see it there will be any problems...

You're welcome, I'm glad it helped somebody

No, it's not possible to save videos to removable media. You can however copy the already saved videos to USB stick using the backup function. It depends on the bitrate, you can check the hourly rate in the stream info in system management section.

Hmm, strange. I have the older one, 20150808, I think someone said lately that they had some problems with the newer one, so you can try to downgrade if that helps.
