For replying, is the Quote the proper way? I know its tough not having the correct manual, etc. My unit is a bit different than that shown on page 33, but on the schedule selection page there is a screen for Record and a screen for Detection. On both screens 24 hours a day for all 7 days are selected. I'm using only channel 1 and detection is enable for that channel. Would an image of my unit and of the screens help?

There is no manufacturer name or model number on the box... believe it to be a A/V Tech device. On the front is 4 CH H.264 DVR. Am able to get the motion icon when motion is detected, but it does not record.
