Rory, Panasonic still belives they make the best equipment regardless what everyone thinks and that they are entitled to charge premium because they are Panasonic.... We will meet with Samsung end of this month. Initially we asked to receive their best performing camera and still nothing. We do not take what any manufacturer specs call, rather perform our own internal tests side by side with compatible hardware. I will keep everyone posted once we conclude our tests... Rory, is it realy everything and bag of chips? Have you really seen its performance in an actual customer site under extreme conditions? I want to gather as much information as possible before we have a chance to test them... Levon

Rory, Sanyo VCB-3574IR has been discountinued for over 2 months.... Looks like they did not change it in their website... It was a great camera and it did deliver the goods in a poor IR environment, but it is gone... Levon

I concur with Rory on Toshiba cameras... Somehow the link for the Sanyo Camera shows a product that has been obsolete for quite some time... Sanyo does not have this product or at least what I can confirm in our Sanyo content...

    Bosch

Bosch has been revamping their site since begining of the January. They are in process to make some noise with their latest product lines, which should appear in the ISC show. They just don't want to "let the cat out of the bag" until after the show. Some of the very interesting things that I know they will announce are newer cameras that will compete head to head with Panasonic and others abroad, including ExtremeCCTV. In addition, they will announce newer DVR series that (like GE) will start using the latest and greatest MPEG4 compression. The initial tests that we saw were great and actually the overall price will be reduced across the board. They will completely revampt their 32 position DVR and Envriodomes series by using better components and different manufacturing processes... Ge will also be making major headways in the ISC show, as they are changing all their camera designs and will introduce their version of DVRs using MPEG4 compression. American Dynamics just announced few weeks ago the availability of their 3.2 version of Intellex units that come with 750G hard drive capacity and with the same price as their previous 480G systems.. They really cleaned the house and got rid of a lot of the junk hardware (maxtor hard drives, poor performing power supplies, etc) that they use to use and they did not cut any corners for this version... We already installed over 50 of these units and they perform substantially better and with higher video quality in the playback mode... Anyone knows anything what Panasonic is doing lately, except keep increasing the pricing???

Same wavereader and they are talking about taking this box to MPEG4 compression. I have seen the prototype with MPEG4 and it is nothing that they made before. As matter of fact, they are in process to change a chip in all their DVRs to provide this compression... My last numbers showed that the dealer cost will be below $800.00 including 3 years warranty (for 160G unit). Even though the first box comes only with 160G, they are talking about increasing the hard drive capacity and offering wider range of hard drives between 40G to 500G. They should make this announcement within next few weeks. Levon

Kaysadeya, These cameras are available now... Since they are 1/3" cameras, stick with 1/3" Lens. Make sure your F-stop is closer to F1.2. Stick with Computar lenses, as they do provide excellent quality and performance and make sure they are AutoIris and follow the basic KISS concept! DVR_Expert, I do agree with your assessment too. Majority of our military and government orders are Bosch equipment, but GE starting to chase their position. When we move tremendous amount of Bosch equipment and we have almost no problems, then I will state the actual facts for the Bosch equipment in this forum or any other forums. By no means I am biased with Bosch. We carry everyone, including American Dynamics, Sanyo, Pelco, Panasonic, Sony, and many others. I just want to reflect real data (I think this forum shows a tremendous potential of great tallent) and nothing less than a truth and facts will be desired. Cooperman, Once you visit their facilities in PA, you will be stunned to see what is really going on. The highest priority is quality, quality and quality. I have been all the facilities of our manufacturers locally and outside of the country and every manufacturer is doing something different. GE's facilities in California and in Portland are very impressive and they have done a great job to sustain their position. I just hate when GE product line is still being mirrored with Kalatel... Not the same. We have seen their latest DVR based on MPEG4 compression and it is a excellent box. What they are doing now is working on moving all their DVRs, including SDVR, DVMRE and all the rest of the products to this new platform using MPEG4 compression. Bosch already started on the same footing and they should have their boxes also to contain the same compression. And then, there is Panasonic.... Levon

    Bosch "NightSense"

Rory, Cool off your horses... I am comparing Panasonic with Bosch.. But if you really insist (and I know you will), I will put in a claim that Bosch does have the best warranty and specially the support in this market. GE will be second in line and the rest will follow. This is not just an opinion, rather based on hard facts! To evaluate the manufacturer, it is based not only on pricing, the quality of the product, the delivery schedules, the availability of support and timely delivery, but also failure rates and how quickly such manufacturer will solve the problem. Considering these facts, Bosch does shine more than any aother manufacturer, including GE Security.. Levon

    Bosch "NightSense"

When you compare products, I hope the price is not the only driving force. I am nut sure if you had any experience with Panasonic product line, but they have the worst warranty procedures in the industry and they charge the highest pricing (and getting away with it). We sell Panasonic not because we want to, rather we have to... As for Bosch, they have the best warranty and replacement procedures in place. This has been prooven even when Philips was running that division until they got bought out by Bosch. The pricing is lower than Panasonic and you get the best support possible. You also have to know that Bosch equipment is the key product line being used by U.S. Military and specially the governmental agencies. Now, when you ask which one I choose, well, what do you think?

    Bosch "NightSense"

We have used them in the recent weeks. Basically it comes with 4 different configurations (mainley different lenses). Our experience with these mini-domes have been excellent. For the price, it beats Panasonic version of the mini-domes (with SDII) and comes extremely close to the same functionality and picture quality specially at nights... The also have their latest cameras - LTC 0495 LTC 0620 series cameras. Actually, we do not see any functional difference or picture quality change going between Panasonic CP-474 (with SDII) and these cameras. Finally, there is another option available as a day/night that will compete with Panasonic overpriced products... Levon

Rory, I am glad you solved it... Only question that I have is what was the VA rating of the 12VDC power supply vs. 24VAC power supply??? Just curious... Levon

Rory, What type of lens are you using?? Who is the maker of the lens? We have seen this problem with Ultraview cameras. Customer wanted to use their existing lenses (Rainbow) along with these cameas. The lenses were varifocal and were autoiris. However, we had serious problems in adjusting the cameras and specially, the camera "was not able to correctly read the colors and lighting changes". We replaced one of the lenses with Computar similar spec lens and then we saw huge difference... It worked perfectly and the customer end up picking up and replaceing all the lenses... I can tell you that the problem is not the power supply! Hope this helps...

Whatever you use, please do not use any chemical based solution of any sort... No alcohol based either... You do not want to find out what happens... What works for us best is a purified water and clean cotton soft cloth. Levon

Rory, Are you refering to glare of the light bouncing by hitting shiney surface? The input voltage of the camera does not matter, rather type of camera that you use. You should be able to mix and match cameras regardless the input voltage and it should not matter. But what matters is the glare that will effect the picture regardless if you camera has a DC or AC voltage. You are stating that you used $400 camera to overcome this. Chances are it may have been Panasonic camera with SDII technology built in. We have tested most of everyones cameras against glare, agains severe light change and differences and nothing comes close to filtering of SDII technology from Panasonic.... Not that I like Panasonic and I do not, but for this type of cases, we always line up this camera and it does work... But then again, the cost is always an issue... Levon

Kerry, I have seen your e-mail and was replied... Looks like you e-mail was received on 7:26AM... Dependent when you requested and when you called, we are there and will reply. We are located in Southern Californa and operating hours are from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM... If we get requests before and after this time line, we reply the next work day. Great observations again... I concure with some of the requests. Early February, we already planning to have (2) shifts ( hours each. As for immediate response, we should have "Live Chat" available in the next few days, which should also state (with your recommendation) to call 1-800 ... to speak someone immediately.... For automated response to state that we received the e-mail and will get back to you shortly - that is a very simple process and I will pass on to our designers... Just got your e-mail and responded....

    Power Supply?

Hey Becausehowcome... This product has been obsolete for a while now and it is the 570TVL B&W camera from Panasonic. The replacement model is WV-BP334. According to the specs, the required transformer should be at least 24VAC with 40VA capacity. Rory, the URL above for the transformer (you called it "heck of a long link") is giving a lot of information, if you really look at it. As long as it may be, you can view what it exactly has there - Power Supply, the product code, it is 24VAC and 50VA capacity with built in Green LED light and resettable fuse... May be very long, but offers information before someone goes there... Hope this helps.. Levon

Rory, I am not a web designer, rather know enouph to be dangerious. I have a very good team of experts in the company that know their stuff. Considerting few facts, i.e. this site was published 2 weeks ago, receives an average of 4000 visitors per day, already generated 82 various orders, regarless that is working on the similar platform as Yahoo (FreeBSD 64Bit OS), ZEON based servers, Search engine friendly application (OSCommerce), etc. tells me that we may have something. I understand that we have more work to do and this is given. Setting things up in Geocities does not contribute to sale. It may contribute to page rank, but it does not mean anything if customers are not visiting the site and placing orders. Rather, we are playing by their rules without any deviations and modifying as we go forward. What is important that there is a good and bad feedback, which we are addressing and belive me, this is as good as it gets. Afterall, without honost feedback, who will put us in check? I have few hundred of my friends from all over the world via Internet that are giving us much needed feedback and they all contributed to our cause and that is appreciated. Thanks,

Rory, We have been using Overture and Adwords for quite long time. All paid advertising does is generating "paid" traffic, which is fine only if someone has a lot of cash to burn, i.e. 123cctv.com. However, our statistics show that over 90% of our visitors find us through non-paid search, rather paid search. We fully understand Google page ranking. In order for Google to index your site and keep coming back to re-index that suppose to be every 30 days, they are looking for several very important design points - non-repeat of the same exact keywords, matching of the title tags vs. picture names vs. content. This is only very important aspect of their overall "search criteria" that they are looking for. FYI, Google, Msn, Yahoo and few other majors are keep coming back every other day, which to us is very unusual, thus raises a question: Why? Is it because we are following their rules, or somehow they see something that they like or there is something else we do not understand? By the way, what is your favorite website? Again, thank you for taking your time to give me a feedback, regardless if it is positive or negative and I appreciate it greatly from everyone who participated. Levon
