Have an existing house that I want to have at least 4 cameras connected to my inside computer with the ability to have internet access.. being able to view my house remotely from my computer at work (T1 line). My home computer is a 1.5 mhz, 768 ram, XP Pro, Road Runner and getting 2,500 for transfer speed. I will use the computer not only for this but to use for regular internet use poeriodically during the day too. All cameras Viewable inside the house on a 50"plasma, computer monitor, 65" RPTV, 1 36" Sony flat screen, and 2 15" LCD's. I have RG6 running to all of these. 1 camera to be used in the back of the house (at a corner of the house, mounted under the roof and covering 150 feet or so for a fenced in area). If I use 2 in the back, each would be 75 feet 1 at front door (under an overhang) 1 to view my dogs in the laudry room (12 feet) ***Trying to determine if a Wireless Solution may be better..I am worried about the quality of the picture and also how often batteries need changed or recharged? I'm clueless on the wireless approach. Here is one suggestion for non wireless: Install 4 Day/Night cameras to locations: 1 Front door, 2 rear (large >space), 1 in laundry room for viewing dogs. from memory: 100 feet across the back same on front, 50 feet on each side..its a rectangle. Camera on 2nd floor to get the whole back of the house will go straight down 50 feet, across 20 feet and inside 20 feet. The one in the laundry room will go 7 feet down, 75 feet, 25 feet, 20 feet inside. One in the front will go 25 across, 12 across, 6 feet down, 10 into house. If a put a 4th camera in the back, that will go 10 feet down, 100 feet across, 25 feet over and 20 feet inside.

the footprint of the house is 2200 square feet. All of these will be on the perimeter of the house. My computer is on the East side of the house.

I am open on the spend for the cameras..have seen $200-500 per camera.. I think I will need to spend more on the rear camera for better resolution and depth of field if I go with only 1 camera. I believe you could say that if 400+ lines of resolution looks better, most cameras will be that unless the distance is so short I don't need it..see above e-mail for distances
