Getting off the point just alittle. My monitor is a old heavy IBM. Whats my best bet on a monitor. I hate to sound like a cheap scap but I want so much I have to really budget my money. I don't care if the monitor is heavy but I want a quility picture. I'd like to have a big flat screen. What's my option's used t.v., computor monitor, cctv monitor. Suffer with old monitor and spend money on camera ect. I guess I want the best bang for my bucks. -

I think you are right about the camera. I'll replace it with a black & white when I get home. I tested it inside with a black & white and it was very bright at close range. Thanks, -

I recently purchased a 16 cn model GV-800 DVR. windows XP 320 gb hard drive . it has a 775i65G ASROCK (I think thats the mother board) and uses Geovision software. The company I purchased it from (off of e-bay) is Plex-cctv. It seems to be a good sysem. but I am new to this stuff and know very little. Wish I had found this forum befor I got in to this stuff. I had some problems with the unit and had to send it back (Warranty) So now I want a unit to use as a back-up till I get my DVR back, and in case it goes out again. I don't want to spend to much. I've been looking at some systems on e-bay. One is a Burle, it has a small monitor tc-1909 and a large monitor tc-1914 , a switcher tc-8141, robot multivision plus processor mv-50, time lasped vidio cassete recorder tc-3924. I think I can get it for about 150.00 Is this a good deal. should I look for something totaly different. Any comments on Plex DVR is it a good unit or crap? or where to get a good back up system. all comments needed!

GunRunner1 replied to GunRunner1's topic in Test Bench
Thanks for the great info! I went in to radio shack and they had a 5" b.w. t.v. for 19.99 uses D batteries Lucky for me it was the demo model and it had batteries in it. Batteries cost all most as much as the t.v. also bought a vidio to bnc adapter. Hooked a pc. of rope to it and up the ladder I went. Not the best focus job but better than it was. I got tired of walking 300 + ft. back to the house to see the picture. I think I need a strap thow. The rope kinda cuts on you. What is the difference in crt? -
Thanks for the info. I think I'll see if I can find a power cord it's a strang looking with 6 pins in it. Do you think it will work with out the software?
