  1. That is correct. So just to be clear the existing 2 cameras work fine on any port the remaining 2 video feeds show "video loss" on the screen as soon as I plug one of the new cameras in it takes the "video loss" message off the screen but the screen remains black, I can also see the new cameras are getting power because when i cover up the light sensor I can see the IR LEDs light up. EDIT: As a sanity check I have connected the camera up again and gone in to the menu and had a look around for any settings that might help me. By adjusting the Luminosty and contrast to maximum I have an extremely distorted grey image, and I can *just* about make out the image I am looking at. Have a look at the attached image, you can just about make out the plant that it is pointing at
  2. I was given this DVR system http://www.thinkcctvsystems.com/store/four-camera-cctv-systems/37-cnm-1tb-cctv-kit-4-channel-h264-network-dvr-with-4-x-ccd-security-cameras.html It only had 2 cameras with it so I went on ebay and bought these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/351575291566?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT They don't work on my system, I can see that they are getting power as the LEDS light up but they don't display video (although they do remove the error message about no video feed), I have tested the cameras on a friends system and verified that they work, so it seems to be a compatability issue. Reading the spec from the link above it seems that the system supports D1 capability which I am led to believe from this forum is 720 x 576 (Pal) The cameras that came with it are apparently 420TVL and 500 x 582 So I searched on ebay for some 600TVL cameras and they are all listed as 500 x 582 as well Argghhh so much confusion. All I want to know is what the best quality camera I can buy and run on this system is. Thanks James
  3. Hi. You might not have a problem ....... You might have two channels switched off for viewing To test this do an easy test. Remove camera that you know is working on your dvr and move the BNC to one of the ports you have tried the new camer on and see if it displays or not Already tried that and it was the same. And I have tried both PAL and NTSC and neither makes any difference
