To answer your question: 1. I believe your DVR was originally produced by a Chinese firm called XiongMai(XM). Escam(hilarious name) simply OEMed from XM. XM's email notification suddenly stopped working Nov of 2015. I got no official explanation from the manufacturer beside they are working hard to resolve the issue. So far I do not see any progress. My guess is all major email providers updated their SSL setting last year. And XM could not keep up with their update. I tested this theory by setting up my own email server without SSL. It worked! However, no one want to use email service without security. So I guess email notification is dead. 2. To save snapshot or video on IE, you need to run IE as administrator.
