Hikvision Video Playback Black Screen
cosmarchy replied to cosmarchy's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
It is recording in H264. I tried both H264 and H265 and the results are still the same. There is the + version of each and activating this for each of the versions makes no difference either -
Hikvision Video Playback Black Screen
cosmarchy posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I am having problems viewing video from one particular camera connected to a NVR. I have a DS-2CD4A25FWD-IZS camera and a DS-2CD2745F-IS camera connected to a DS-7604NI NVR. I am unable to view video downloaded from the NVR (via the web interface) from the DS-2CD2745F-IS camera. Once a video has dowloaded, I get a black screen when I try to view it. I've tried two players (VLC and Windows Media Player - both of which are up to date) and the result is the same. The seek bar shows a time which is about right for the downloaded video duration however it finishes in seconds as if it reached the end of the clip. There is no video at all, just a black screen where the video should be. I have tried downloading using the clip tool and the download tool but both give me a black screen. There are no issues with the DS-2CD4A25FWD-IZS camera; I can create a video with the clip tool and download and I can actually see the video. It is just the one camera which has this problem. I had no issues with my Win 7 computer which I've used for a number of years and never had any issues with downloading and viewing video but I have recently moved to a Win 10 computer so I am wondering whether there are any additional files which are required. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thank you. -
Hikvision Video Playback Black Screen

I cannot believe I'm the only one who is using Win10 - or at least having issues like this -
I did read an interesting post saying the the router "does not support NAT loopback, which is why you cannot access your server from within your own network." I tried using my mobile phone to get on a different network in order to scan port 443 and it said that it was closed so a different result to it being "connection refused"!! Interesting one this; I type in my password which is 10 digits long and I get green ticks to say they are both the same. Once I've clicked Save, gone to a different page and then come back again (I'n some vein attempt at causing a refresh in case it needs a prompt to try and connect to the dns - see how bad this has got ) the password has reduced to what you see there.

Ok, so Hivkision in their infinite wisdom decided to knock Hik-Online on the head and replace with Hik-Connect. The problem is that my DS-7604 does not support Hik-Online when it comes to DDNS and I cannot update the firmware, as Hikvision instruct, as it is at the latest version already. So, I am having a lot of trouble setting up DDNS with no-ip. This is what my settings look like: Does anyone have any idea why the connection fails? Thanks

Ok, so now I'm confused... I have forwarded TCP ports 80, 8000, 554 and 443 in the router to the IP of the NVR. When I check them with http://www.canyouseeme.org/ which confirms 80, 8000 and 554 are open BUT 443 reports connection refused So, I tried the setup guide on the no-ip website which takes you through a very generic setup. Part of which sets DDNS on my router (which I didn't think was necessary since there is a DDNS in the NVR which I thought would take care of this). At the end of the guide it checks the ports are open. Only port 80 is open Interestingly, the NVR still refuses to connect to the DNS server which uses the same credentials as my router but this does connect successfully as when I type the DNS domain into my web browser, I am greeted with the log in page of the NVR so something is clearly working!! Do I really need the DDNS setup in the router? I did really want the NVR setup working.

Hi, yes. It is connected to one of my router ports.

Hivkision NVR Questions

Thanks for this -
Hi, I have a DS-2CD4A25FWD-IZS and a DS-2CD2745F-IS connected to my DS-7604NI-E2-16P NVR. In the beginning I had my DS-2CD4A25FWD-IZS which I connected to via the cameras web interface. I then bought the DS-2CD2745F-IS and the DS-7604NI-E2-16P NVR which is the setup I have today. 1) Since installing the NVR, I've realised that I don't have the same adjustments of the DS-2CD4A25FWD-IZS I did when I connected via the webpage!! For example, I cannot adjust the time of day for activation or sensitivity of the SmartIR or maybe alter a ROI. I also cannot adjust the WDR or the HLC. Firstly, this is quite a disappointment from Hikvision as I was told the settings on the NVR are a mimic of the camera and that changes in the NVR are pushed out to the camera. Clearly this is not the case as I have less functionality. Secondly, how do I now change these settings? If I look at the camera management, I can see the cameras have IP addresses which are in a different range to the NVR itself. the cameras are 192.168.254.x whilst the NVR is 192.168.1.x. Is it the intention that the cameras are still accessible, if so how? If not then how do you make changes which are not accessible via the NVR? 2) I initially only had my DS-2CD4A25FWD-IZS so this was setup with email notification. Since this is now connected to the NVR, that will take care of the email notifications. For good practice should I disable this in the DS-2CD4A25FWD-IZS? Will it keep trying to send emails independently adding the load on the camera processor? It's kinda funny if you think about it. If the NVR replicates the camera settings and pushes out adjustments, then which settings does it take when multiple cameras are connected which conflict with each other!! 3) In the NVR, if I go to the Vehicle Detection menu, I get a warning "The camera does not support the function". I find this odd because the DS-2CD4A25FWD-IZS does have ANPR installed. Any ideas why this produces this warning? If anyone can assist with these issues, it would be appreciated.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I need to understand which features the camera has to have. Which adjustments are the important ones to have setup correctly? I've looked through a few camera manuals and have not seen (or perhaps misinterpreted) a defined region; what is this commonly called? My initial thoughts were a HikVision DS-2CD2642FWD-IS. Has anyone had any experience with this camera in a similar situation? Thanks

I've the unfortunate situation where some very kind people have dented two of our cars (within two weeks) and drove off, so I think now I am in need of a camera to catch the culprits. So, I'm looking for some advise on the best camera for the job. Due to the layout of the road, I'm thinking of a varifocal camera so I can adjust the view. I obviously need to be able to see number plates in the dark with the headlights facing but I'm not sure what features I need in order to do this? I wouldn't mind LPR but I suspect this is costly and I'm happy so long as I can identify the number plate at 'all times of day'. I need to be able to see about 25m (30ft) in total, although the vehicles will have to drive past the camera in order to leave so I'm guessing the distance to be 6/8m for the purposes of making out the number plate. Could you please advise on the features or setup I'd need in order to stand a chance of achieving this. Are there any recommended cameras (which hopefully wont break the bank) which people have experience of. Thanks

Hi, I have what I believe is a Vista Quantum4-80 DVR, I say believe as the label is no longer present. I know it's a Vista though as the logo is on the box It has been sitting on a shelf for a number of years and has long since ceased operation. Would anyone know how I can reset the unit to it's defaults when I am unable to gain access to the unit? I don't know what the IP address is but all I want to do is to return the unit to its default state and set it up again. Does anyone know the default IP address of these units? Thanks
