Hey People Needing some advice; I'm planning to connect three cameras 12v 100mA to one 12v 400mA power supply. Which method is best in terms of current/power flow; PS []----------------- cam1 | |----- cam2 | |----- cam3 * Running one length then splitting 3 towards the end of cable run after 20m PS []----------------- cam1 -------------- cam2 -------------- cam3 * Running short length (.5m) then splitting 3 torwards the end of cable run (20m down) -
Using PC ATX power supplies to power up CCTV cameras?
PKL-Lap replied to PKL-Lap's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
You can turn ATX power supplies on by shorting pin 3 and 4 if I remember exactly. Just have a custom switch. Nobody stocks AT power supplies anymore these days. It be a nice experiment. Attached is to a UPS if you want. Or use a redundant ATX power supply. -
Using PC ATX power supplies to power up CCTV cameras?
PKL-Lap posted a topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Ok after replacing a power supply on a server for a client. A thought came up. Would it be adequate to use an ATX power supply to power up CCTV cameras? I'm thinking.. a 350w power supply. Typical spec sheet: http://www.pctoys.com/840556000587.html An average power supply comes with 4 x 12v leads and 2 x 5.5v leads. I don't know much about electronics. I don't think these PS are regulated. 12v leads are 16A max load. Any opinions? -

Does the luxriot support capture cards with standard BNC/RCA connectors? I downloaded the demo but it seems it could only add IP based cameras? Any other DVR software you recommend? -

I just checked out your website. Your software looks very good! Does it support history playback remotely? Lets say I want to preview a certain clip 2 days ago at a specificed time frame. -
Recommended DVR software for Windows and Linux

Hello Thomas! For CCTV use. From 4 to 32 cameras. Paid software is fine. Its for both home and business. Also. If the software supports 2nd/DUAL display mode. Lets say I have 2 19" LCD screens side by side. My video card supports DUAL display. So if I have a 32 camera set up. I can split the cameras in 16 each LCD. I assume you mean the skin/GUI of a casino set up? I'm considering looking at Windows XP Embedded platform. Have the DVR developed inhouse. But I think the development and licensing costs will be too much :/ -

What DVR software would you recommend for Windows and Linux? Stand-alone and OEM. Paid and freeware -

If you are deploying a DVR system based on XP Home or Pro operating systems. You can use the built in cd writing software that comes with XP. It supports a lot of CD writer models. This is when you don't have Nero or other 3rd party CD writing software.
