Hi everyone, first post so please be gentle and I'm very happy for mods to move this thread to the most appropriate area for it to sit. I am using an analogue camera feeding into a Hikvision DS-6704HFI network video encoder. I have set up motion detection, which works well and I am able to see this trigger in Hikvision's iVMS-4200 client software. Technical manual is here for those willing to have a look (thanks) http://www.hikvision.com/UploadFile/image/2014100815210483316.pdf
I have also set up email alerts when motion is detected and ticked the "attach image" option. I used the gmail.com and outlook.com SMTP server services and have received emails with this text but no attached JPEG:
EVENT TYPE: Motion Detected
EVENT TIME: 2016-04-11,23:12:32
DVS NAME: Embedded Net DVS
DVS S/N: 002014091qwertrtyuiopp
IP ADDRESS: 10.10.2.15:80
CAMERA NAME(NUM): Camera 02(A2)
I can verify that local micro SD card storage of both video and JPEGs works for "constant" time/schedule-based capture, but no images or video are recorded for motion detection events. I believe I have up event-based image capture correctly in the config and am happy post screenshots if that helps diagnose the issue. This might be the blocker in the chain but it seems strange that time based image capture works and event based capture doesn't.
I have tried with both my iVMS-4200 and the internet explorer with webcomponents as the configuration interfaces to no avail. I have also tried upgrading from firmware 1.2.3 that the unit shipped with to 1.2.5.
My sincere gratitude goes to anyone who can help me get JPEGs attached to the motion detection emails. Thanks in advance.
