What is everyone using for wireless internet connection? My NVR is on the second floor far far away from my router. I have been looking at the NETGEAR Powerline 1200. No idea how reliable it is. Any thought of this over access points or wireless adapters? I have a Laview NVR

Aren't these the same set that Costco sells? Any others with a system that does not require purchase of cloud

One of those Vivint salesmen almost talked me into installing their outdoor cameras. I am going to be traveling for a few months and I would like to install a a few outdoor security cameras particularly in the front and back of the house. I dont have much land to cover in the front or back so I will probably need 3-4 cameras. My house is 2 stories so if I go with a DVR I will proly have to run the cables down from the room. I would prefer a system that has some sort of motion viewer that can be viewed on my computer. I am not looking for top quality, but I do want something that will last. Thanks for any suggestions

In the part year alone, I have had someone knock over my mailbox and steal small items from my yard such as plants. So I have decided to install a security system. Its gonna be on a 2 story house in Florida. I figure I can run all the wires through the attic...which is more of a crawl space and have the wires drop down to the control center in a closet.
