I’ve exhausted myself with research and I’m throwing in the towel and asking for advice.
Professional install or DIY? Im realizing i can’t afford the professional so I need to see if DIY with the better systems is possible for a noob. I don’t want a cheap system.
I have an electrician (high-volt) friend that said he would do the Labor/install but he doesn’t have experience setting up the dvr/cameras. So the tech part i'll do and will need end user friendly instructions.
Someone recommend doing camera’s with sd cards. Would like to know thoughts on that.
My wants
8 outdoor IP cameras.
NVR
Camera’s, bullets. Good enough quality for face recognition. Motion detect plus scheduling, zoom would be nice if affordable. Clear night vision
Remote access for both computer (pc/mac) and phone (andriod/iphone), apps should have some type of security or encryption to access and view.
Record to both dvr and cloud.
Details on my Property
Entire property is 7k sq ft
2 square houses, 3/2 main house (1600sq ft) and 1/1 mother in-law 25-30ft behind main.
Spanish style, Flat Roof.
Camera's need to cover both houses from the main house.
Other wants:
i would like a system that has good security to protect my home computers and network from prying eyes. I read to set up to its own router to give it an extra layer but are there any dvr’s that have extra security or encryption options.
i want something of quality, not the most expensive but best bang for your buck without losing quality that doesn't need a professional to get it working.
