New to the Forum here, and as I have only installed 2 setups, I am stumped with a new problem.
After I did my setup, my neighbor was so impressed, he wanted my help to do a setup for his house which we did. We did a simple 1080p HD-SDI generic that seems to be Dahua manufactured and runs mobile on the GDmss app just fine.
The issue is that he saw my setup at home and wants the same. I have an HDMI directly connected to my TV so I can hot button the cams on the fly. I also have a 10.1 Android Tablet mounted in the kitchen in which I use IP Cam Viewer and all 4 cams run all the time.
The problem is, his Internet cable connection comes in at the side of the house, so everything had to be in the Garage (DVR/Router?Modem, etc) Not a problem as he can see it on his iphone via the app. But he wanted a Kitchen monitor or tablet like my setup. So we tried a Tablet using the GDmss app, seemed to work just fine streaming over wi-fi. But he would constanltly tell me it would shut off, so I installed Wakey app which keeps Tablet on all the time. Still no go according to him. He thought the tablet ws the problem, so he purchased a 19" VGA monitor, I used an old android box to utilize the app and get it going (VGA to HDMI adapter). He knows tells me its still happening, I go over and the monitor is on, but its on the main android home screen. So this tells me the monitor is on constantly but either someone is playing with the box or the something.
I claim it could be his kids messing with it as they know the reason for the cameras was Dad keeping an eye out (kids are having pool parties when parents aren't
home, etc)
Is there another option like maybe locking down the android screen to show the app all the time or something, because I have a feeling someone is messing with it.
I mean, I run a crappy old tablet running 2.2 and ip cam viewer and it never goes off, ever, unless I touch it.
