Thank you. Yes, this would seem to work. I do have a few follow-up questions. I see the files are stored on a hard drive, so it appears the video will need to be copied to an external USB drive or stick for use on a PC. How long does the export process take. For example, how long would it take to export a day's worth of video that was recorded at 720p and 20 fps? Which particular HIKVISION DVR unit are you recommending? When I look on Amazon, I see several different units. (A 2 or 4 camera system is fine for my uses.) I see you are from a CCTV firm. Do you sell them? Is there a way to get a sample file exported directly/specifically from one of the recommended units? I need to test the file in the playback tool I'm required to use. If I can't play the exported file in the tool, without conversion, then I can't use the DVR.Alternatively I can provide a URL where you could test the file and report the results. I have a task that requires me to review recorded video in a proprietary tool. The video must be in MP4 format. Right now the recorded video must be downloaded from the DVR (using CMS), then converted to MP4 (using something like VLC or DivX Converter). The download and conversion process is a huge pain and waste of time. I'd like to eliminate that whole process by finding a DVR that will record with the following requirements: Records in MP4 format with h.264 compression. Saves the file to a removable storage media (USB stick, USB drive, or Memory Card). Allows for the playback of the recorded MP4 files on a Windows based PC, directly from the removable media, without conversion or other modification. Will save the video files in 30 or 60 minute increments without loss of video between the files. Records at a minimum of 720p at 20 fps. Places a visual time stamp on the video displaying hours, minutes, and seconds. Supports storage media that allows for the capture of, at minimum, 24 hours of video at the resolution and rate above. I'd be very appreciative in anyone can point me to some units that meet the above requirements. Thank you in advance, Andrew
