Yes, Here are the requirements: -
Thanks for the update. At least with the Ether9404 you will feel it satisfactory after using it.

I got hit yesterday. Good thing I was paying attention and turned away from the gal who decided to pull a U-turn in front of me. Did I mention this was on a highway? Well, I was going thru a town but still it's a highway. Real minor damage considering if she had pulled out 1 second sooner she would have been t-boned at 30MPH. Luckily no one was hurt. I'm not so mad about the damage although the body shop did show me where it bent the door pillar. I hope the insurance company doesn't total it! There is a hell of a whistle while driving down the highway now. I've been driving 24 years. 9 of those years in a tractor trailer through 48 states and Canada. One million plus miles accident free. I didn't really expect to go my whole life accident free but am pretty ticked off that a gal that wasn't even licensed to drive trashed my record. And don't even get me started on her citizenship status... But anyway... On to the blood and guts: I prefer to remember happier times. You know, like when the doors opened good and stuff.

It is an issue with the uninsured motorist part of the policy. It's bare minimum coverage. It's my fault for not reading it, but my agent should have been watching out for me. I mean, I have well above minimum coverage on PL/PD because I told them I wanted to be well covered. He should have bumped up the uninsured coverage as well. The money I am out isn't the end of the world, but it's a slap in the face when the accident is not your fault AND it costs you money out of pocket.

Strange behaviour in CCTV
C7 in CA replied to suomaf's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
I would double check my connections and try a different power supply. If that didn't help I would move that camera to a different channel to see if the problem followed the camera or stayed with the channel. -
Yeah, I got the estimate late last week. $5300! seems kinda step considering I only paid $20,000 +tax with the access package. Also I should have read the fine print on my insurance policy. My uninsured motorist policy doesn't cover my deductible if I am not injured. My question is... Does a big fat headache count? My rental fee's for when the van is in the shop isn't covered either. I can sue for my expenses but I don't expect much luck with only a name and P.O. Box to go on. And I doubt she has any money anyway...

Dang Jonny, You tore-it-up down here! Welcome to the forum...

time lapse of cctv Ugh. I think I would be thankful for being alone. I can only think of a couple of people on this Earth I could tolerate that experience with. And even fewer that could tolerate me I'm sure! note to self: Always carry your cellphone when on an elevator...

Remote Viewing - Clover DVR behind router using DSL modem
C7 in CA replied to epols's topic in Computers/Networking
You should try your remote access from somewhere other then the same DSL circuit. I say this only because others have had similar issues as you are having only to find it works fine from the outside but they can't use the public IP from within their own LAN. I can access my public IP from within the same LAN but others say they can't. Something worth trying before you drive yourself nuts changing a bunch of settings that will never make it work. And yes, sounds like you are doing it right. -
That should be an interesting conversation.

Well good luck with the store front! I'm sure you will do just fine. If you can swing it without a partner please do so! I'm still crawling out from under a 3 way partnership where one of the partners flubbed up his end of the deal so bad it damn near took us all out. I would never again partner with anyone that calls themselves a business man. I would only partner with someone that brought a real skill or product to the table. Not business savy alone. I read that article the first time you posted it. I was wondering why Mark Lynch contacted the eye center? Did the PI not pay, or did Mark see a law being broken after he did the install? I wonder if the PI did not pay because Mark wouldn't turn on the audio?

So you're opening another store front? Congratulations! I never really got the gist of your last store, but it sounds like a partnership gone bad? or you were an employee? Will your new store be a direct competitor to the other store or different area?

10 Commandments of Proper Cable Termination
C7 in CA replied to scorpion's topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
Ah, gotcha. But when I lose a video source I get video loss splash screens. Is it recording a black screen at 30fps (or whatever setting are in place) or do DVR's typically disable that channel? -

What do they mean by that? -
Glad to help. The thread was kinda hard to find. The only way I found it was I remembered the discussion.

home-made external camera housing
C7 in CA replied to ronbo's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Nice work Kiwi! I'm pretty sure I know what camera you have in the second "shorty" enclosure. -
Yeah, Nice house. Where is the communications closet going to be? Are the cameras part of a larger structured cabling plan? Is there a reason for RG6? With the distances you are looking at I don't think you will see any benefit over RG59. Especially considering you are going to want solid copper RG6 which I have never seen "off the shelf" which means special order. Most guys would pull RG59/18-2 (siamese) All the siamese I have seen was solid copper and the stuff is "off the shelf" at most electrical supply houses. Looks like a fun project!

Pro's wouldn't do it. But others have done it. Check out this thread on the subject: http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?p=72212#72212

Glad it worked. C'ya on the forums!

Hi siemens, Please check your PM's if you haven't done so already. Thanks
-
It's worth a shot... It would suck to have to cut and connectorize every transition.

Isn't teknawlagee onedurfull? It's weird that you are getting those errors; yet it let you start this thread?. I will just say that when I am having problems with these forums I clear my cookies and cache and that has usually helped in the past. I'm sure rory will see this thread but I will PM him for you just in case...

home-made external camera housing
C7 in CA replied to ronbo's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Interesting project. Can you post pictures of your progress? How much smaller can you make your housing over the original? Aren't PTZ's pretty much a tight fit in their housings already? -
Here is a link to a voltage drop calculator. I haven't checked the math for accuracy. But should be handy for quick checks. Scroll down towards the bottom of the page: http://www.powerstream.com/Wire_Size.htm

Weird. Because I read this on the website: http://www.lighttape.com/content_lt_whatis-02.asp?ContentId=294
