Very cool Ronnie! This is the stuff I love checking out. But yeah, too bad the pics are so large. You might try uploading the pictures to www.photobucket.com . They say they automatically resize pictures that are too big. I'd like to see more pictures of the setup. Like what it looks like from the back door looking in and stuff.

Ganz ZC-Y30NH4 Hi Res Color Camera

I have one. I've been so busy that besides plugging it in to check out the picture I haven't had a chance to play with it. But looks like good rez and color even on a TV monitor.

    FIBER TRAINING

Here is some decent info on fiber: http://www.arcelect.com/fibercable.htm Not a how to. But good descriptions of cable types, connectors, and termination options. Some links too.
  5. I really like this setup. The PanaVise camera mount is installed on 3/4" EMT conduit. I like it because EMT is cheap and easy to work with. I never mount anything to T-Bar (drop) ceilings for liability reasons, So these would be great for those situations. Anyway... I must have thrown the packaging away and the mount has no part number on it and I don't see it listed at http://www.panavise.com . Does anyone have a part number for these? __________________________________
  6. Thanks Doug. The part number you gave me led to this part number: 854-3/4. It looks like this might be a newer version? The pictures I am finding for the other part # has a thinner ball joint. Either that or they are mixing the 1/2" and 3/4" pictures. The one in my picture is definitely the 3/4. And it is pretty heavy duty.

    Infrareds

So are the higher nm led's more expensive? The reason I ask is because I have a couple of cheapo bullets with the glowing red led's. But the cameras CAN see the invisible light led's. I have tested this by pointing my IR TV remote at them. They see the flashing very well.

ALL BRITISH POSTERS PLEASE REPORT IN!

Keep the faith my friend. We are doing the right thing. Remember no one of any credibility is saying he never had WMD's. And yes the question remains... where are they? But one thing is for sure; we found the biggest weapon. Saddam was a huge weapon of mass destruction. And the proof is readily available. Simply google "Mass Graves" and you will see what I mean. I've heard the number of dead in graves put at 400,000 and counting. And remember this whole Iraq war started in 1991. We have remained there enforcing UN sanctioned no-fly zones since he retreated from Kuwait. Saddam has repeatedly violated UN sanctions (about 19 I believe). The biggest mistake I see over there is we waited 12 years to finish taking saddam out.
  9. Hey Rory... I can pull, terminate, and certify all the multi-mode fiber you want. I just don't have a grasp on the media converters needed for cctv. So if you know what equipment to plug the optical fiber into we're good to go mon. Even with the extra airfair from California vs. Florida I could probably still save you some money.

    Dead pixels?

Thanks guys. Yeah, white pixel no matter what the shot is. Can only see it at night or when you cover the lens and it's only one in the lower left corner. So not a real big deal. Just disappointing.

ALL BRITISH POSTERS PLEASE REPORT IN!

I offer my condolences to the victims and their families. This goes to show how stupid these people are. Just what effect did they think they would have attacking some of the most resilient people in the World?

    Wireless Video Protection

I have done a little research on those 1.2GHz transmitters. I know many places sell them, but from what I can tell you have to have a license to transmit on those frequencies. The way I read this chart: http://www.ntia.doc.gov/osmhome/allochrt.pdf 960MHz upto 1.35GHz is reserved for radio navigation type stuff and some bandwidth for Amateur Radio.

    CAT5e install pictures

Anyone care to share install pictures? I don't have any noteworthy cctv installs so... Here's a couple of pictures of a rack I recently installed. The only thing missing is a fiber backbone for 6 future buildings (I think that project is a long way off still) and an equipment rack for switches and servers (Now installed) Same rack with the Wire Manager covers installed. The protective peel off film is still on the covers.

    StoreSafe for Rory

How can you guys tell? I could see if the winning bidder was new. but they have 32 feedbacks and a member since 2002. His past auctions just looks like any other buyers I've seen out there. buying typical junk from many different sellers. The seller looks pretty busy to me. I don't see how they have time to conduct all those auctions AND shill. I guess they could have a staff shilling auctions with their personal accounts... But that seems far fetched

    CAT5e install pictures

Please do post your pictures. This was just a low-bidder job for the County. I like to see how others buildout their equipment racks and backboards. I steal the good ideas and incorporate them into my jobs. Here's a picture of my modest telecom closet at home. On the bottom you can just see the tops of a Panasonic KX-TD308 business telephone system and a KX-TVS50 voicemail system. In the middle you can see a little 12 port mini patch panel and a couple of 66 blocks next to that. I have voice and data throughout the house and a 25 pair feeder to the Telco's Demarcation point. Above that is a dedicated 20amp 120v circuit and to the left of that is a CD player for Music On Hold. (Now I use XM Satellite Radio for my MOH) Below the CD player is a little 5 port switch. What's missing is a couple of routers, DSL modem, another switch and my video distribution stuff. All that is on a wall mount rack in the office. I had a picture of that but can't find it right now. Rory was hosting that picture for me awhile back...

Well, Thanks but I can't take credit for the website, picture or the tricked out self-contained wireless cam. I can't take credit for this picture either, but looks like a fun jobsite:

Here's an option for photo storage: http://photobucket.com/ I just opened an account to check it out. Pretty cool feature is when you upload a picture it shows you the URL, HTML tag for a webpage and the BB code for message boards. here's my test pic using their bb code...

    Camera cables into attic vents

I might do that if the vent was very close to where I was going to mount the camera. I don't like running cables along eves and such. But if the attic is well sealed from bugs and critters then I might think twice before making a hole in the screen big enough to fit a connectorized cable through it. If the siding were wood or some type of Masonite product then that might prove to be easier to seal the hole around the cable then a screen would be.
