Can you please provide more details in your question? Do you need CCTV cameras for a security system for a corporate office or are you a distributor or what?
-
I've mentioned it quite a few times on other threads that if you are looking for a budget system, go for brands like Hikvision and Honeywell and if you want more features and have money to spend then opt for brands like Axis. You should invest in full HD IP cameras that will add more functionality to your overall setup. But considering that you want remote functionality, look for that in the cameras you pick. Perhaps a local installer will be of help in picking out the cameras and in completing the installation process. I'd suggest you to go with products from the same company.

Why is my system constantly "Saving"
jesseallen replied to Brewsky88's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Agreed. Your security system should not be rushed or else it will hurt in the long run. What you are facing is probably a software issue and you should get help from your vendor/installer and ask them to help you out with the drivers. -
You can always put your money in the popular brands like Dahua or Hikvision. You'll need a wired setup (and go for POE) to get the feed on your computer. And there are good brands that offer you an option to stream to your phone as well. Look around for a local installer and stick with your budget. Good Luck.

For low budget, Hikvision, Dahua and Honeywell are good options. You can look for deals from vendors online. Or you can find a local installer as well. Research online around your area. Good Luck.

Have to agree with tomcctv here. You can't just pick up any brand that you find. A good surveillance system needs a lot of thought and research to get it right. And btw, it is better to go with IP cameras than analog HD. With analog cameras, you will miss out on a lot of essential features. Plus, there are a lot of good brands that provide quality solutions for small budgets. Research them.

logical cost affective years long image storage?
jesseallen replied to Tony259's topic in General Digital Discussion
Hard drive's generally have a life of 3-5 years so it will be difficult to find good hardware for your need. Cloud is your best bet, but it will need investment for the large storage and the bandwidth/data connection. So you should invest in NVRs and cloud technology for minimising your costs. Physical storage will be costly. -
Can someone recommend a home surveillance system?
jesseallen replied to JohnDS's topic in Security Cameras
First of all, welcome to the forums. Since this is your first time for surveillance systems you should start with network-enabled IP cameras, wired and POE and compound that with NVR (not DVR) system. You might wanna look into turret cameras for outdoors and while bullet/dome cameras are ok outdoors, you might run into issues with IR lights. Check if you will need extra lighting systems. Specification for cameras are quite standard, go for full HD and cameras that support motion detection. Some good and affordable brands that you might check out are Hikvision, Honeywell. Also, search for a local dealer/installer to help your setup. And do ask questions. Good Luck. -
Have you already purchased the cameras? It would be great if you could switch. The setup that you want, with analog cameras, will be very complex and will require splitters and a lot of cables. All of that will add up to as much as getting a system with network security cameras. Since you are getting a new system, I hope that you switch at the earliest.

Hi, I hope I am not too late with my response. I recently had my security setup done by a local installer called Internet Security Systems. They are based in NY, so installation won't be possible in your case but you might get a good deal with them. They do ship everywhere. You can put your money in IP cameras from Hikvision/Honeywell and get it done well in $2000. These brands will offer the best for your budget and make sure that you go for 1080p and network cameras with POE (power over ethernet). Good luck with your selection.

I can send you a link to a proper video presentation why IP cameras are a must in surveillance systems. You will be missing out a lot if you go for analog systems. And there isn't much of a price difference if you try some budget brands but at least you are guaranteed more features and a better experience.

So, what sort of help do you need? Brand recommendations, retailers, discounts, local installer recommendations, or budget information? Your selection of equipment depends upon your budget. If it is high you can go for cameras from Axis, Bosch etc. and if you are on a tight budget you can go for Hikvision and the others. You'd definitely want 2MP (1080p) cameras and if you can, then do get IP cameras. Separate or box sets both are fine (unless the price difference is too much). Again, you can find a lot of NVRs from different brands depending on your budget. Just go by the standards. For discounts and local installer recommendations your location is necessary (I'm in New York and had our new system done recently). So please give those details as well.

Which one from these 2 bullet cameras is better?
jesseallen replied to paulnye's topic in Security Cameras
Of the two links, one is for the entire catalog, so I can't compare. Please check the link. I'd like to know how are you going to buy these, a local retailer, online or what? -
2MP has been standard in all CCTV cameras since a long time, and even in 2016. In the age of 4K TV's and full HD cameras, CCTV manufacturers have upped their system to record higher quality videos, keeping 2MP resolution to 1080p video. Yes 2MP is equivalent to 1080p. Probably, your smartphone shoot at 8MP(4K). So you see, our eyes need a full HD to make out things better on a monitor. In fact, we had our video system(HD) replaced with a new 1080p recording system.

Like ak357 said, 2MP is your standard for 2016, so don't miss on that. HikVision is good a choice, while there are others like Honeywell and Axis which you can consider. Cameras with NVR is also a good option to work with, so that part of your plan is good. I'd suggest you to do your research on the models before making the purchase. You can find a lot a good and genuine deals here and there on the web.
