Multiple Minotors showing same fault
CCTV_Suppliers replied to 123CCTV's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Not familiar with that brand, sorry.. I think it is time for you to change the supplier don't you think? Bottom line, whatever they supply has to work period! After reading your post, I called my previous supplier of the LCDs that we had similar problems.. and they stated that they found their Chinese manufacturer closed the doors and they now have a different manufacturer that uses better shielded LCD cables, etc.. and that their LCD work well... I will be ordering few of them shortly and see if they did fix it.. As they say, you are as good as your last job... but I like to give manufacturers second chance.. after all, nothing is made in U.S. and chances are their respective plants are trying to sell garbage, if they can get away with it... -

I remember seeing your setup, as we were Loronix local support group... but Target was not one of our customers... If you have Intellex systems in place, all you will need is IntelleView software that operates with Intellex platform... Here are some of the features of the IntelleView: # Integrates IntelleView transaction monitoring and Intellex® DVMS into one box # Monitors Point-of-Sale and other data-oriented systems # Processes, analyzes, and saves transaction data with associated digital video # Offers 3 surveillance methods: 1. Record exception transactions only 2. Record all transactions 3. Record continuously, including between-transaction activity # Uses single-point interface to data network # Archives suspicious transactions with video to integrated Case Management module # Displays an intuitive, easy to use GUI # Features extensive datamining capabilities # Reports exception activity in real-time # Sends real-time e-mail alerts of exception activity # Provides off-site management and operation via Remote Client (over corporate network) # Color-codes exceptions by category for easy identification # Presents exception statistics in colorful graphics # Copies video/data clips to CD-RW or DVD-RW # Full (3) three years warranty on both Hardware & Software Dependent which POS terminals you use, it may be required to write or rewrite a parser that interprets POS language to legible text, which then gets overlayed on the Intellex video.. later, you can view Real Time Transactions as they happen or find video based on 24 various queries that happened whatever duration that you set the software to retain. Incidentally, we are the company that develops and distributes IntelleView software under license from American Dynamics. Also, we are the largest distributor in the West Coast carrying their products (as well as other manufacturers). If you have any questions and need more info, please let me know via PM. Thanks, -

UMDRanger, correct me if I am wrong, wasn't Target using Loronix for their video and POS integration solution? -

Funny you mention POS integration and type of "exception" reporting that you describe above... Do you know anything about IntelleView application that works flawlessly with Intellex Platform? -
Multiple Minotors showing same fault

What is the make and the model number of these LCDs? Is this a LCD with both composite video and BNC inputs or just standard LCDs? We had similar issue with a brand (I will keep it out of our discussion) that did not perform... these were between 19" and 30" LCDs... We end up replacing them with another maker, mainly AGNPRO models and the problems no more.. We did not have the time to figure out the source of the problem, as the manufacturer was not cooperative and we were not going to use our customer site as a experimentation... and instead, they decided to take their LCDs back blaming us that we did not know how to use them... This manufacturer did not want to understand why a different maker LCDs work without any issues... nor cared to address the problems with their LCDs. Oh well, they lost and our customer gained. -

Question for you... Was this problem existing before you changed them with LCD monitors? -
CSG, if the product is still under warranty, I will suggest to send it back for warranty repair... Digia is 100% embedded system, well, it least on paper... They still use certain features on the hard drive (not on the flash) using Windows FAT format, that if the hard drive fails, then you have to reinstall it.. If you are sure that the hard drive is dead, then you are in luck... You can increase the internal hard drive capacity up to 1,000GB or 1TB by using two 500GB PATA drives (we mainly use Seagate "Surveillance" grade drives) and it works perfectly... Dependent how you program this DVR, you can have very high quality (MPEG4) video stored my longer periods of time than its native storage could provide. You also need to know that portion of the hard drive contains export software that you have to install manually... After you have done the conversion to higher capacity (or the same storage capacity), then you can call GE Technical Support and they "should" give you "how to" reinstall this feature on the hard drive... and if not, we can help you to geit it.

American Dynamics Intellex will do... What you referring to is what their Intellex Premier specs are. Example... You knew that there was an item on the desk and it is not there... Instead of searching for hours, just highlight the item when it was there and perform search for the highlighted area and it will find all the clips for it... and also show from which direction a person came and which direction they went (vectorized search). Also, you can preselect several areas for motion record (so that if such are senses motion, the recording could be set at any level up to 30IPS - for critical surveillance purposes) This model will comply with everything you ask.. except the export image will be proprietary format... which is fine, because when you export such clips onto CD or DVD, it also installers the Intellex player. When you take the content to any computer, it will ask to install the player and then run burned clips.. Are you using Pelco matrix switch or you want the Pelco domes controlled by others... Dependent on the answer and if you do not have matrix switch, then you can control these domes with Intellex, that has the Pelco protocol already built in.. You have not asked how many days of recording you need... If you any other questions, let us know. -
Looking for a cheap DVR - What about Covisec?

Can you please tell me which DVR from ADT that had the drive failure? You may be able to get that drive replaced and up and running much quicker than changing the DVR platform... Let us know.. -
Looking for DVR with a few features as a priority
CCTV_Suppliers replied to CraigVM62's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Craig, am I reading correctly when say you want 16 to 24 Channels DVR? If so, are you referring may be one 16 channel and one 8 channel separate recorders? Ability to assign each port to record different FPS is available from different manufacturers besides GE... If you can answer the question above, I am sure we can come up a different, yet more cost effective solution compared to GE.. -
SEO has nothing to do with it... rather we call it Internet Footprint.. all the sites pulling their own weight and generate their independent traffic.. and selling different items in each site.. By the way, looks like our ranking for the keyword "CCTV" in the Google has gone up to 4th position... the traffic has increased over 100,000 hits per day... I guess our gurus may know what the heck they are doing... One of the site that we are developing is CCTVDirectories.com that is focusing on identification of manufacturers of CCTV products, ranking of manufacturers based on customer experience, etc... and another one called CCTVKnowledge.com that will address many questions pertinent to various CCTV products in the market - right now only 14 manufacturers that will start participating, providing information, answering questions, addressing technical problems, etc. Eventually if and when it becomes popular, the we hope other manufacturers may join..

best camera and complete system source
CCTV_Suppliers replied to texasdyme's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
What exactly are you looking for being part of a complete system? How many cameras, what type of cameras (minidomes, brick cameras, etc...). What type of DVR can you use (PC based or embedded types)? -
Here is the product spec url: http://catalog2.panasonic.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ModelDetail?storeId=11201&catalogId=13051&itemId=68240&catGroupId=14458&surfModel=WV-CL924A&parentCatGroupId=14220&searchModel=WVC&displayTab=O We have them installed in quite of few locations and the performance is exceptional... Just make sure that you are using the right lens... We used Panasonic recommended lenses, Tokina lenses that performed very well... as well as Computar... Again, I am not saying the ExtremeCCTV solution is worse... however, this above model from Panasonic can and does perform in the equal footing as the ExtremeCCTV model.
-
Granted that we may not know what his priorities are... However, we also do not know the fact that if he knows about the Panasonic's solution. I am not a hard core Panasonic user... believe me.. nor endorse any specific brand and as I do not have any preference on manufacturers... What I care however is to pick the best each manufacturer produces and then find a solution that could be a combination of several products from different manufacturers. We use Panasonic camera equipment only in areas that most of the cameras can not perform and you know exactly what I am referring to. For me, Panasonic SDIII product line is not a stream line that we offer, rather use them for environments that require much more light analysis and major improvements in picture quality... Nobody is disputing here about the ExtremeCCTV solution... If the night vision is important, the pricing irrelevant and money is no object, then this is the right solution for him... What if he finds out later that he could have cover more area using 2 Panasonic's camera packages and by adding a simple flood light that will operate with motion and provide light that will be enough to get excellent picture quality at night??? and yet, still have extra dollars in his pocket? Don't you think that it will be very good idea to educate your potential customers by applying your knowledge and experience before they pull the trigger to purchase something and miss out on other solutions that can and do save money? Or, do you go by only what their chosen equipment is without explaining their other options? In the long term, it pays major dividends to educate and have more options available for your customers.. It pays to give unbiased opinions and provide alternatives on what someone may think is the best solution... As professionals, it is also our responsibility to provide different solutions for the same task... thus offering customers different choices.. rather than, well, ExtremeCCTV is the best and you pay the price.. If push comes to shove, I can start talking about Panasonic's StarLight cameras that will work better than ExtremeCCTV solution... Have you ever used or seen StarLight cameras and if so, what is your take on them? Pricing will be in line or probably more expensive than Extremes EX82...

your thoughts/opinions/criticisms/ on this setup
CCTV_Suppliers replied to gambler's topic in General Digital Discussion
gambler, CBC/Ganz also has great product line and they work very well... So does Sanyo, Bosch and few others. Your best bet is to figure out exactly what you want to spend and then line up your ducks... Price will vary tremendous if you go from CBC to Panasonic (and being the best in its category) and others that will fall in between... Just remember this, regardless which brand cameras or DVRs you purchase - always demand and do not settle for less than 3 years warranty on everything you purchase. Good luck.. let us know what you decide. -

In that case, all you need is 16 channel 24VAC power supply... recommendation is Altronix ALTV2416... unless if you will be running more than 250' of 18/2 power cable, then you will need higher amperage power supply and there are many to choose from. -

CCTV_Suppliers replied to gambler's topic in General Digital Discussion
Gambler, unless if you changed your strategy in usage of the cameras from Panasonic, that will explain why you need 12VDC supply... Are you using these Panasonic minidomes for indoor (which takes both 24VAC and 12VDC power supply) or you choose to go with a different model that requires 12VDC? If so, which camera did you select? Also, you can use the Altronix ALTV1224C model... first 8 position will be 24VAC and the second bank of 8 will be 12VDC... All you have to do is to have 4 closest cameras to the power supply to be shared by 2 of the DC ports of the same... As long as they are within 50' range, you can tie 2 cameras per DC port and that should work just fine... This way you do not need any additional power supplies and you can use this model to supply everything that you will need. Rating for this power supply is as follows: 3.5 amps continuous supply current at 24VAC output 3.5 amps continuous supply current at 12VDC output With above specs and as long as you use shortest distance cable lengths, you should be fine it tying 2 cameras per power supply output port. -

CCTV_Suppliers replied to gambler's topic in General Digital Discussion
Good approximation... and you get all the goods that come with it, including 3 years warranty... It also depends on the timing you decide to purchase and the application... If you are using a minidome for indoor with constant lighting (to external light changes), you can have pricing closer to $200 mark and sometimes lower (on special large purchases sometimes we can save our customers 50% or more)... -

Excellent... using 5.0-50mm and 2.8-12mm variations... Installation should be a snap, as you bought complete package with the housing with heater and blower and one of the true day/night cameras in the market... Nothing could be said negative about these camera packages.. Only if other members can give their take on your chosen DVR... then you are ready to rock and roll... Good luck and let me know if you need any assistance. -

CCTV_Suppliers replied to gambler's topic in General Digital Discussion
Excellent choice on the cameras... specially the outdoor package that uses CP254 camera - true day/night version... The product code however does not show the package that it comes with... Is it possible you meant POC254L2? The picture quality that you will see using these cameras will be exceptional. As for the DVR, do not know anything about the manufacturer... so I can not comment. -
The color camera is a PC33CDN-4G Day/Night Color Surveillance Camera. I'm off today so I don't have the lens and b/w camera inoformation with me right now. The PTZ is an ACD-1500. I am not familiar either of the cameras... Seems like you have plenty of light at night and if you camera have the actual specs as noted in their spec sheets (which I read), then you should get much better images than what we see... I can not tell you exactly where the problems are... rather I will suggest you to revisit on both of your cameras and why they do not perform as advertised. Cameras from Sanyo, Panasonic (specially) and few others can solve this issue... coupled with decent AI lens... you will achieve an exceptional picture quality. Just curious - which DVR are you using?
-
Which cameras and lenses are you using currently?
-
I will suggest using CBC DR8NC-250 model... with 250GB of storage, CD burner, Internet ready, Embedded, and with remote control unit to run all your tasks... You can use what VST_Man suggest (which incidentally does work very well)... and pricing starts under $1,000 with 3 years warranty..

Another question when using the Panasonic, Samsung, Sanyo
CCTV_Suppliers replied to CSCOUT2001's topic in Security Cameras
Has anyone ordered Sanyo PTZ lately and received a product?? I know we bought their last batch of domes quite of few months ago and according to Sanyo, they had or were about the discontinue all their dome lineup... I can have it checked if they may have brought them back and let you know... Regardless, Sanyo Domes did not have "tracking" feature built in...
