Another question when using the Panasonic, Samsung, Sanyo
CCTV_Suppliers replied to CSCOUT2001's topic in Security Cameras
First off, Sanyo PTZ domes do not exist anymore.. and they did not come with "tracker" even though I read one of their articles while back that it was suppose to....... Bosch makes Envirodomes that have built in "tracker" and if it is programmed correctly, it works exceptionally well. To get license plates and exceptional pictures, you have to consider ExtremeCCTV product line... Very few, if any, other manufactures have decent license plate readers and actually deliver such performance. We have used them before with excellent results. You can have a very rich mixture of ExtremeCCTV license plate solution coupled with Bosch Envriodomes with built in "tracker" and decent matrix switch (or a keyboard that will act as the controller mechanism) that will give you overall excellent performance... and dependent what type of DVR you have in place (I hope something very good), then you can have a package that you will be very proud of... and I am sure that you customer will catch those bastards and prosecute them... -
WDR Domes (which one would you choose.)
CCTV_Suppliers replied to CSCOUT2001's topic in Security Cameras
WDR is a verbiage that has been used very loosely... Some manufacturers actually harp very strongly that their cameras are WDR even though they are not... there is not enough space to discuss what WDR really is and what exactly the true WDR camera provide and what environments will actually need them... I can tell you that Panasonic 484 series minidome is the king among WDR minidomes and for a price... Sanyo version of VDC-W1594 is the Sanyo's WDR version... This camera is true WDR, about $100 more than its color version (VDC-C1574VA) and it is better performer... If this was my project and if customer had the money, I will consider offering them between VDC-W1594 and VCC-P7574 and the this last one is one $20 more.. With its feature, which no other manufacturer can match up, does give excellent always in focus effect, yet is very responsive of the lighting changes, thus gives the WDR effect.. -
Coax, Cat5 or wire....
CCTV_Suppliers replied to cyboyeee's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Just use Siamese cable and you will be good to go... If you had much longer runs, video baluns would have been ideal... it would have added no more than $30 per camera (balun costs are around $15 each) and you could have extended the video cables up to 1,500' without any loss of video (passive balunn)... We used many, but prefer the baluns from VideoBaluns.com (their trade marked baluns have VU on the packaging). Good luck and let us know what is the outcome of your installation. Which cameras are you using? -
WDR Domes (which one would you choose.)
CCTV_Suppliers replied to CSCOUT2001's topic in Security Cameras
American Dynamics WDR works fairly good.. the same avail from Panasonic which is even more expensive, but excellent performer (actually the best performer if I am insert).. A different path that I can recommend is a Sanyo WDR solution... and there are few options there too... First - WDR dome - VDC-C1574VA... This will work very well in the same environment.. not as good as Panasonic, but definite candidate. Second - WDR with Pan/Focus - VCC-P7574 - well, this model actually will be much better, as it provides the picture that is always in focus. These above models will give you fairly good performance (specially the second one)... Let us know what you decide and good luck. -

Intellex Lost Password
CCTV_Suppliers replied to Lou19's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Good job Lou... Intellex configuration on desktop helps tremendously, doesn't it... Just in case and if you want, you can increase its internal storage up to 320GB by using three 120GB PATA drives... Just make sure that you change the power supply to higher rated and also change/add more system fans (you should be able to add at least 2 more plus power supply 120mm fan). Change all the PATA cables as well... Once done, just configure your new hard drives and double click on "drive config" located on the desktop... and this way you can utilize its maximum capacity. If this system is Deluxe model, you could (if you already do not have it) add CD burner... Good luck.. if you have question on any Intellex matter, let me know... We have a full facility that repairs, maintains and upgrades (dependent on Intellex version and packaging - desktop vs. rack mountable, you can have up to 4.0TB (4000GB) internal storage) of Intellex systems.. and if you need more info, let me know. -

Lou, I take it that you must of bought Intellex version 2.xx (it is probably around 8+ years old at least).. Which version is it if you know? Also, which password are you referring to? There are several password with that version (Windows, Intellex SW Key, Intellex Log-in, Intellex Exit.., Intellex system modification and few others..) -

Very funny... -
jisaac, seems that you like to pick words that you do not like and come up with your conclusions, which are baseless... As Rory even agreed, the EX82 is an exceptional performer, but for pitch dark areas that will require IR... Nobody here disputes how great EX82 cameras are nor am I.. The point that was made, which obviously raffled up you feathers is that if there is an outside lighting at all, the Panasonic, Bosch or Sanyo will give this member a solution that will do the same as EX82, and that it will save him money... Yes, I will state that Panasonic solution will do the trick and still leave this user more money in his pocket... I can even give you Bosch or better yet, Sanyo solution that will do the same... and still give him a great picture quality during the day and night... but of course, if the area of concern is pitch dark and this member must have EX82, then there are no arguments there...

Looking for decent dvr system for store
CCTV_Suppliers replied to mr.verbal's topic in Digital Video Recorders
My suggestion is to go with a simple, yet very effective Embedded system. This is not a PC system, rather has all its programs embedded in a flash memory and uses hard drives for storing video only... There are many to choose from major manufacturers... One that comes in mind is from CBC model #DR8NC-250 that gives you 250GB storage, CD burner, remote control unit, Internet connection and all the essentials... and you should be able to find one under $1,000.00 - Also comes with full 3 years warranty! As for your cameras, do you want them in color or B&W? Another question that can help if you want conventional brick cameras with lens or mini-dome type of cameras? Dependent on the answers, I think for under $2,000, it is possible to get you this hardware and still have 3 years warranty.... However, you have to be realistic on your requirements for the cameras... -
VCR/Multiplexer to PC based to Standalone to PC based again?
CCTV_Suppliers replied to a topic in General Digital Discussion
Embedded (proprietary) or embedded XP or Linux based... These type of systems come with least amount of headaches and are very stable... Yes, most of them do not come with all the bells and whistles that conventional PC based DVRs do, however they are very easy to use and to operate. -
DVR suggestion for Panasonic CP480
CCTV_Suppliers replied to AmsSat's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Amsat, I could of helped you if you were in U.S.. Excellent choice for the cameras... Just make sure not to go cheap on your lenses... For home use, I will suggest Embedded system with ease of use, yet very functional.. There are many to choose from... from Sanyo, CBC and even Bosch... Concern is that we are located in U.S., so regardless what price you can get these type of solution, the shipping costs could make the package pricing cost prohibitive... I had customer from U.K. that had their relatives buy DVR solutions and then they were able to ship to U.K. much cheaper that we could... Not sure how... but it worked. -
Sonn, you are burning a lot of cash for these cameras.. They have their uses of course for mostly commercial applications, but for one of these Extreme cameras, you can get at least 2 of boxed version cameras with lenses, housing, heater and blower and the end result is substantially better (and leaving more cash in your pocket... First off, these camera and most of the CCTV cameras will work with your GE StoreSafe Pro... so you are fine there.. Good choice on this DVR... Just remember that you can increase its internal hard drive capacity... but be careful how you do it... Some of their export features are built into the hard drives (even though it is an embedded system), so if you randomly change the hard drives, you could loose the export feature... There is even fix for that too just in case... a patch that allows the feature to be reinstalled back on to the new drives... My recommendation will be to look at Panasonic CP-484 cameras with decent lens, housing with heater and blower.. The picture quality and the performance is equivalent or better for the above camera.. You can add simple IR illuminators, if necessary to see even more in pitch dark environment... Heck, you can even have one of the Bosch best boxed cameras that will give you as good and if not better performance... I am referring to LTC 0620 series cameras... Not to say the Extreme's package is less of a performer and I will tell you it is an exceptional camera package, but with Panasonic and Bosch options, you get twice as much equipment with same if not better results and picture quality.

Collin, I like AMD processor based solutions, but never liked ATI... it probably had something to do with their technical support or late driver updates... Rather, most of my system contain AMD based motherboard (mainly MSI and ABIT) and NVIDIA chipset based video cards (with at least 256MB).. Never liked Intel.. I do not like any motherboard that comes with many built features, i.e video card, sound card, etc... rather buy as basic system that we can build and add only what we require.

Works fairly well... Heat sink is a big plus vs. the fans... fans do go bad and I had my share of failed video cards because fans go bad... Instead, with this type of heat sink, it gets hot, but manageable.. Of course you always have to use several system fans to reduce overall heat built up away from video cards, the hard drives, processor, etc.... but this card is cheap and works very well.. MSI also have the same type of card, but with NVIDIA chipset... Under extreme video intensive tests, NVIDIA version does produce extra FPS and a bit faster, but nothing major..

Hey Matt, great selection of GE hardware... You can attach to an electrical box... Do not have the exact measurements right now, but there is nothing special about these boxes... Dime a dozen in Home Depot... DM-1500 series mini domes are IP66 compliant, therefore they are weather proof... but here are the range that they can handle... "The dome can withstand temperatures ranging from 14° to 122° F (-10° to 50° C)." Will it withstand major colds or rains, well I do not think so, as it does not come with built in heater and blower... DI-XP2 series on the other hand, I will not install outdoors.. as they are not IP66 compliant.. and have a temperature range Operating temperature: 14 to 113°F (-10 to 45°C)... Construction wise, it is very well built, but again, I will not consider it for outdoor use.. Rather it balances overall picture based on an amount of light and dark that it can sense... and improves the picture quality.. None of these models are true day/night, so do not expect them to perform flawlessly. Each come with very neat features called "EXview" (in case of DM-1500) and "XPosure" (in case of DI-XP2), but none of these features will give you pure B&W "visible" picture in the evening with specially with lower light levels. In both cases you can expect to see grainy picture if your lighting conditions are not adequate...

C'mon, you can do better... it should not go any higher than 100MB or less..

Pros & Contras IP CCTV and Non PC Based DVR system
CCTV_Suppliers replied to adindas's topic in System Design
If you already have bandwidth issues, stay away from IP based solution... If you go with conventional solutions, cameras and DVR, then most or if not all the DVRs come with ability to have multiple users view from different locations.. This is true regardless if the DVR is PC based or Embedded.. -
Rory, most of Antec cases already come with a filter on the front... Removable and reusable... Which case do you have?
-
Rory, I did not see (or may not read the entire thread) of the motherboard that you intend to use with this... What is the make and the model?? OR, which video card do you use and who is the make and model> Nowadays most of the motherboards already come built in chipset for RAID... AS for number of hard drives, stay away from using 4 hard drives... stay with (2) drives mirrored and performance will be exceptional. You do not need to push WD Raptors... rather go with WD 7200 or Seagate preferably 7200 RPM drives.. Another area that you could gain more performance (we had a different thread few weeks ago about this topic) is to get the paperwork on how TinyXP has been programmed... (No, do not get the pirated XP )... If you really go through all their recommendations (most of which have a lot to do on disabling many unnecessary services that run in the background and modification in the REGEDIT), your maximum RAM usage at XP idle should be no higher than 100MB (basic XP system chew through at least 250MB+). Proper programming will render tremendous overhead, thus will increase performance. If you read more about TinyXP, there is a write up that complies with what "gamers" use... With that XP setup, your RAM usage drops around 40MB... and make is even faster (even less services, more modified REGEDIT configuration).. I used one of their recommended setups... performance was unbelievable... But I am very curious which motherboard and video card in this package... That will define additional tasks or no tasks at all...

Doug, as you said, there are many out there... My comfort zone with this type of bullet cameras rests with CBC and here is one model that I can recommend... BCH-IR39A - here is where the spec sheet located: http://www.cbcamerica.com/cctvprod/ganz/cams/cx/sod_pdf/bc-series%20CS906.pdf It comes with Varifocal AI lens going from 3mm to 9mm and works very well.. CBC also makes little higher end bullet cameras and you can identify what they are here: http://www.cbcamerica.com/cctvprod/ganz/cams/index.html Let us know if you have any other requests...

Ganz ZS-DX116N Multiplexer Manual
CCTV_Suppliers replied to Klickit's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
You are welcome... To be honest with you, you will not need this manual anyway.. There are no special settings or anything special that you could have done with this multiplexer anyway... Basically you plug it in, bring your camera feeds and apply the output to your monitor... and that is all... Good luck man.. -
What you like best...12V DC - 24VAC or DualVoltage?
CCTV_Suppliers replied to a topic in Security Cameras
In our case, 0.1% of the cameras we use are 12VDC -
Ganz ZS-DX116N Multiplexer Manual
CCTV_Suppliers replied to Klickit's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
I just talk to CBC on your behalf.. What I found out is that they do not have the PDF formated version of the manual, as it is a very old model.. However, they have the hard copy of the manual. What you need to do is to call Tony at CBC technical support located in their West Coast branch and ask to have them to mail you the copy or may be fax it.. Hope this helps.
