hi Joe In most cases they are set on motion only .. so most clips go from 5 seconds before the motion until 5 seconds after the motion stops.. so from 10 seconds to couple of minutes withj some longer if subject is in frame for a longer time Mark

Hi Joe The NVR's are recording motion only and are standalones that wouldn't be able to run the software. but thanks for the head up .. i will check in on your thread Mark

Thanks for the responses guys @tomcctv - we often help the customer find footage .. it keeps us close to the customer for future jobs and referrals. and it's quicker than retraining them because they forgot how to do it (yes that happens A LOT)... But the question applies for the customer too. example. police want a video .. customers custodian has to drive 30km to a plaza to physically backup to a USB stick .. spends an hour helping cops look at the video and backing up and then drives back 30km. someone is out 2 hours and 60km of gas and (too often) a USB stick they'll never see again.

Hi All I cannot find an answer to this one through google searches at all ... for specifically - peel region, ontario, canada If the police ask me to find an event .. say between 8pm and 11pm last week and I spend an hour or two searching, finding and downloading. Are they obliged to pay me for my time? in this case an illegal activity in a plaza we installed cameras at. (this one particularly got my goat as they must have known exactly what time it was by the call in .. and it was after 10pm so I wasted time looking through 8-10) I'm not asking because of one time .. but I have done this numerous times for different locations and they seem to think time is free.
