I am trying to get text overlay to work with sam4s cash register and a dahua 16ch hybrid 960h dvr. I would like to use serial interface. I am open to using network sniffing as well. I know that the register is sending out text thru rs232 cause I tested it with VSI Pro. I need help with setting the text overlay on the dvr side and its settings.

I have a Dahua 16ch hybrid 960h. Is it possible to playback using Extra Stream instead on the Main Stream in PSS over WAN? I see the option for main or extra during live preview but can't figure out how to do it during playback. We have a slow internet connection at the dvr location. I also dont want to lower the encode settings for the main stream. Shawn

I ended up using Smart PSS and I am now able to play my extra stream. So for anyone having this problem, here is the link for smart pss https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CCwQFjAA&url=https%3A%2F%2Fdl.dropboxusercontent.com%2Fs%2F3uidyx8b81qqdlf%2FSmart-PSS_Eng_IS_V1.00.7.R.20131119.zip%3Fdl%3D1%26token_hash%3DAAEPG_ilHFd6qepG7yyMTxo6F99NlHnUx58jFz1N_WBmBg&ei=GkgDU7LvE46DogTQ44DgAw&usg=AFQjCNEA9bTBWaLV-SmaWj9v8fyuaahRsg&sig2=haLnhpPzafT_etqscBmvhw Once you launch the program just click playback and then choose assist on the top right and the channel number. Hope this helps anyone that was in the same boat as me.

All I see is "r" and "m" feeds on the list. I dont see any "extra stream" at all.

I am unable to get to the screen that you posted. This is what I see when I click playback in internet explorer. I wonder if my dvr has a different web interface then yours.
-
double clicking on the file in internet explorer is not playing the file.

Mindtwist your tips have helped out alot, thanks! I do see the extra streams in pss and internet explorer now. But seems like I have to download to play the file. I dont want to have to do this. I would like to playback the extra stream right from explorer and/or the pss. Is this possible? Shawn

How about in web brower? Is it possible to playback the extra stream in Internet explorer?

My recording for extra stream was off. I have turned it on now. I still can't figure out how to playback extra stream though pss. I see it in the web service though Thanks, Shawn

I need a outdoor ir camera for a liquor store. It will be for the parking lot about 10 stalls. I could use some recommendations. [edit by mod-that is a retail store model number, please post the manufacturer model number]

Looking for a 16 channel dvr with 30fps on all channels. What's out there that reliable.
-
Are the pc units more reliable/robust? Which models for each can do 30fps per channel. The card would need to have bnc jacks and atleast one audio input.

CCTV Suppliers thanks for the recomendations. LVS what kind of system is this? I'd like to know in depth specs. Thanks -
Hello I am looking for recomendations for 16ch DVR. Our business is liquor store. We recently bougt an Apex 16ch dvr and don't like it. Lots of technical bugs in it. we currently have 14 cameras and will add 2 more soon. the features I am looking for are remote viewing (we have dsl). Friendly gui, easy to use, possibilty of backing up to USB stick, dvd and HD. I am currently using 2 500 gig HD's and that give me roughly 3 days worth of recording, not enough. I'd like to have atleast a week's worth. Remote would be a plus and a good compression alogrithm.

This is the Resolution: NTSC 720 x 240/360 x 240, PAL 720 x 288/ 360 x 288. On a side note does a cctv display matter as for as resoultion of dvr, camera ---> to the monitor. We are currently using a basic crt TV via rca connection. We plan on getting a 32" LCD tv. Are there better options? The frames rates are set to max for all channels. Here is the dvr I am currently using. Samclub site item number 206855 The board wont let me post a link because I am a new user. I am using full frames on all channels and using motion activation on all. I would also like to have audio on atleast 1 channel. I would prefer embedded unless pc is a superior. I thought embedded is the way to go as they don't crash etc(although this clover resets quite often on its own.)
