l recently had a fire in which my whole bar got gutted to the beam and so we have to start from scratch ie.new cameras,wiring,electricity,dvr/nvr,etc etc. l have a chance to wire my whole bar from scratch, what type of wiring would you use knowing l am installing new cameras, maybe mega pixel cameras in the future, but analogue for now. l was using a icrealtime pro dvr previously that actually caught the cause and start of the fire, much to the surprise of the investigator.l havent decided if l want to go with a pc based system or a dvr like previous.l am looking for simplicity of search and quality of recorded video.Looking to spend upto $5k for 10 cameras and a recorder/dvr . Ideas would be great.

l have a large rectangular bar room(20 x55ft) surrounded by 10 plasmas and slow light changing lights,so the room is fairly well lit,my dillemna is choosing a camera for nightime when we are open and when we are closed(where it is very very dark(hardly any light at all). The tvs all face into the room. What camera would be suitable for this type of environment especially with the flicker of tvs!!!

KG 230EX KG 830EX GN-605D/N KPC-SLL 650BH After much research,l have come up with these cameras as my main choices, which one would be a better camera out of all of these.l have a lot of tvs giving off varied light surrounding the room,l would also like a nice wide angle view ie 2.8mm.Any feedback regarding these choices would be great.

What would you use in a bar that has decent light but the light is coming from a lot of tvs (flickering),then at closing time,it is almost black, what type of camera would you use in that situation. The room is rectangular so the tvs all face into each other!!

l have just had a fire in my bar, which the camera actually helped with the investigation,by showing the cause of origin, before the heat /smoke burned them out!! l have had previously 4 ge 540 b/w cams,2 panasonic 474 cw dome cams and a 924 box cam by panasonic also. The bar is surrounded by plasma tvs on the wall in a rectangular room about 20x60 ft and are mounted at 11 ft high. There is quite a bit of colour changing and light change especially with the tvs and there is enough light emmitted for me to have a colour camera, however at closing time the bar is virtually black when the bar is closed. l would like to have 8 cameras in total one for outside included for underneath an awning pointed downwards towards a door entrance with good light and a nice wide angle view. If possible (give or take )l would like to be around $3500.00 as my budget as l also would like to buy another dvr as my existing dvr (icrealtime pro) has smoke damage also.

l need to know if the red is the positive and black the negative to connect to the altronix 8 cam power supply. Its a simple quetion to you guys however l am relatively new at this and dont want to make any mistakes.I am doing th install tomorrow confident l will do ok from the info you guys have given me and advice. l am installing 1- panasonic 474fw dome,1-panasonic974 fw box camera and 1 flexi dome xt and l have existing cameras also.l am installing a nvico xg dvr w/400 gig hd and also the cameras are being connected to an 8 cam altronix power supply. l learnt to focus cameras using a small tv near the camera running a cable from the out connection to the tv and using appropriate connector. anyway, just to say thanks for everybodys expertise and info, this is by far the best forum on the internet.

l have the nuvico xg model 16 ch and my cd rw is not working,it wont open up,l called up tcech support and they said to a/ use a pin to open the draw which l tried and it opened but still doesnt want to record to drive. b/ use a crossover cable and save data to a external hard drive or a laptop.l bought the cat 5 cable however l dont think l am doing it right,l connected the cable to the back of my laptop and then connected the other end into the usb port on the dvr using an adaptor usb-cat5, reason l am doing that way because my wireless router is connected to the cat 5 connection on the back of the dvr!! l am new at all this stuff,so if someone can tell me the best way to record to a laptop or an external drive? from the recorded data step by step l would appreciate some help, thanks for any replies in advance.

sf1964 posted a topic in Installation Help and Accessories
l have 2 dvrs(using only one right now) and wanted to add more cameras so l would need the extra dvr.The current one l am using is the icrealtime 8 ch pro which l prefer and l view from home over the internet.the other dvr that l used before which is decent but not as good is the nuvico 16 ch.the question l am asking is how can l add the nuvico dvr to my existing system,ie adding 3 more cameras using one monitor(or would l have to buy another monitor) and how does it affect viewing over the internet ie using 2 different softwares?? how could l set this up,l dont have to view the nuvico dvr over the internet or if there is a way please let me know, thanks in advance. -

there are a few registers that interface one notably being the samsung registers,l happen to have 2 linux based touch screens from "tec" that interfaced with the system, extremely reliable (never gone down). the capton system runs about $50.00/pourer plus $1200.00 approx for the reciever and $2-300 for antenna l cant remember exactly where l put the quote from the main distributor, but thats what l remember give or take a few dollars.so for 60 bottles it comes in at around$4500.00 and you get software with that for usage etc.

hi jasper,it is a liquor control system and monitoring system, but mainly control as yopu can program different price levels and portions as needed ie. happy hour $2.00/drink and 7/8oz pour of alcohol and then it will change at 8.00pm and pour 1oz of liquour and the price will change to say $3.00/drink (just an example). All this is done in the software that tells the guns and donuts what to pour(no overpouring, consistant drink pours etc.Like l said l had this system(still do)installed and used it for about a year however the perception people have like you guys said is "your not getting a full or large drink" so l have all this equipment that l no longer are using ie liquor racks pumps 2x 16 liquor guns and 2 donut rings these are all interfaced with my registers ie automatically rings up and displays on the register without touching the register(you dont have to worry about drinks not being rang up). Like l said for niteclubs/hotels this berg system is by far more flexible than the other ones linked in previous post, and l would definately reccommend, however l would use something like the wireless free pour monitoring system from capton,l have seen it used and it works very well but you have to buy new pourers after 3 years(repeat business!!)you use the pourers like a normal pourer but everything is being measured so you know good staff/thieves etc. just my experience and my 2 cents hope this helps!! ps.jasper l just realised you think l have the capton system, l actually have the berg system!!! l actually paid 30k for the system l will sell it for 5k if you want it or no someone who wants it l can give you the berg installers name and number they will do any install and travel!!http://www.totalsystemscontrol.com/Berg_LIQ.htmthis is the system l have.

basically rory,l have 2 donut rings that the bottles have to pass through in order for the liquor to pour(magnetic pouring spouts) this l use for premium off the shelf liquor.l also have 2 liquor guns that have a total of 16 liquors that can be poured from a touch of a button, and can be programmed to pour ****tails and different amounts based on the 16 liquors. The liquor is stored on racks in the baseement and pumped up through the gun the system can be interfaced with a register or pos system ie you can pour the liquor and it will automatically ring in the amount that was poured(no stealing).and you can customise your daily reports usage reports etc at the end of each shift or day whichever you prefer. Personally for a high volume college bar it slowed us down a bit ie waiting for a gun etc however if l was to buy something similar again they have wireless free pour systems that are very reliable and much less expensive, that way people think there not getting a portioned pour!! and you get liquor pour accountability from your bartenders and there are less things to go down re. equipment etc pumps programming issues. The hotels will definately be able to budget for such a system(berg) ie $30k however l would not propose this for other local bars etc l would use the wireless system!! l will sell you mine if you like http://www.captoninc.com/

hi rory,l have the berg system in my college bar it really does tighten things up on the liquor cost etc however it can be expensive to install.l would reccommend for a hotel/ niteclub situation,as the percieved pour of liquor in a college bar does not go down too well so l have stopped using it! if you need more info let you know!

l have b/w ge540 box cameras in my bar, works great!!

the green is the non recorded background of a playback clipof a file.when it gets to the recorded part of the file it plays the clip,ie a 10sec clip is recorded and saved and then replayed so it plays only the recorded clip in the file!! its hard to explain but that is what happened to me a few times ,l had to run the whole file to get to the part of the clip that l recorded,it started blank or green with file playing and eventually switched to video!!

[/img] finally got a pic up from my bar.this is a pan 924 box cam with a fujinon 1/2 inch lens,it actually makes the image far brighter than it actually is!! l have a couple of pan 474 d/n domes and ge b/w 540e 0.95 f cameras also installed which l will post later!! l have a few glare issues with tvs and neons any suggestions re settings would be great ie masking etc.
