Need help designing an IP camera system
gfdcxgfd replied to gfdcxgfd's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Rory: I believe it does have AGC. I do not think there is anything for the iris or back lighting.... I'll try and get a picture tommorow of what I meant by crappy image when the sun is out. I messed around with the exposure/brightness/contrast settings and no combination would help me get a decent picture in the sun time. Need help designing an IP camera system
gfdcxgfd replied to gfdcxgfd's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Yeah I know man it sucks! I zoomed in more to get the plate but the damn sun kills the view when it is the afternoon. @thewireguys: Its the Pixord P415M. Bad software! NO TECH SUPPORT! (I registered as an installer and they gave just very little tech support and a broken english FAQ) They give you a STRIPPED version of the Nuuo software if you buy over 10 cameras. I bought form a middle man. I was directed to this distributor thru the fine folks at Pixord. This "distrubutor" is based in NJ. All in all the camera is good but only when there is no sun out. Any more questions? I might have some more pictures, let me see. *EDIT* Also notice the WHITE COLORS!......kinda sucks huh? Oh and cost was just a bit over $300 with the shipping. -
24 Camera System Required - What direction to take?
gfdcxgfd replied to SambaNoodles's topic in General Digital Discussion
My input if you want: CHEAP IP Solution: D-Link DCS-910 640 x 480 MAX Resolution $68 each. ($68 x 24) = $1632 PC DVR with software & 1 monitor ~$2000-$2500 POE Switch ~$700-$900 CAT5e 1000ft Wire ~$80 MISC (connectors, and other small stuff) ~ 100 Not exactly $4000 but I'm sure you can flex a little. I got an idea for an analog system but I cant fit it in your budget.....unless you want some knock off Chinese stuff. -
Anyone know where I can get this software? Long story short: My customer has a 16ch eyeonet system. The person(jackass) that installed & sold the system did not leave any software behind except the dell xp pro cd. Harddrive crashed so I replaced the harddrive and OS. (XP Pro) I contacted the manufacture, explained the situation of where the HDD crashed and the initial system installer did not leave the software behind and they want to charge $90 for the software alone! Was wondering if anyone knows of a free alternative or where I can download it for free. Any help is appreciated, and I will not do business with a company such as Ameta. This is their site: http://www.ameta.ca/

Need help designing an IP camera system
gfdcxgfd replied to gfdcxgfd's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hey sorry for the late response been busy! But yeah man the miniNVR looks pretty good I'm going to look into it more as I find a client that needs ip cameras. Thanks for the suggestion! Anyways what do ya'll think of the quality? (Quote from the other post I made) The picture is AMAZING when there is not alot of sunlight but when the damn Florida sun shines its freaking horrible! I'll try and get some pictures when I can. *Note this is picture taken when I was installing an analog system, I decided to see what the ip camera would look like. Its decent but I don't think it would work for my clients. -
MegaPixel Cameras - Images and Demos

Hey guys remember my thread about the ip cameras? Well here finally I got some time to play with them. Hello all, I'm sure everyone has heard of http://www.dyndns.com/ So on that website you can have a dynamic ip address go to a custom webpage. Example: Dynamic Ip address: 123.456.789.123 translates to custom.dvrdns.org So what do I want you ask? I have a go daddy economy hosting plan and a domain from them. I want to know how to make a Dynamic Ip address translate to custom.mydomain.net I already know how to do this for a static ip address, very simple but how do I do it for a dynamic ip address wihtout having to have yet another monthly bill to pay? I know there is software out there for this but I guess I'm just not wording it right in google? In short: I need a free software that will automatically sync the dynamic ip address with my godaddy site every time the ip address changes. *EDIT* Similar to the dipmap stuff from geovision or the custom.dvr99.org thing from wavep

Help needed on Analog and IP camera system
gfdcxgfd replied to ImaginationConceptsInc's topic in System Design
Just curious what is the cost your looking at on this? Seems expensive with all of them ip cameras. Also only thing I can suggest is getting a good battery backup such as the apc bx1500lcd minimum. -
Need help designing an IP camera system
gfdcxgfd replied to gfdcxgfd's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hello guys, First off very sorry for the delayed response, the website was down and then I didn't have time to properly follow up. But anyways, here is what I'm looking at: I ordered my first mega pixel camera, it's a 1.3mp indoor dome. I am running the Nuuo software that the camera came with. I just used 10/100 switches temporarily because I forgot to order the 10/100/1000 switch most likely I'm getting the trendnet switch for around 30 bucks. Also since there I have bills to pay, I'm just sticking with my regular intel Pentium dual core desktop until i can save around 1300 for a "decent" system. So here is what I think, overall quality was decent could have been better though, for example colors are amazing but when pointing at a white object (such as my work van) the image kinda gets washed out, tried messing with the settings but I would have to lower the exposure and brightness and stuff and it didn't look as good as i wanted it to be. Takes up ALOT of storage! 1.3 mp @ 1280 x 1024 @ 10fps = ~1.02 GB per 6 minutes! Another issue I had is that everytime I unplug the power or network cord and plug it back in to "simulate" a power outage the camera for some odd reason didn't come back on the Nuuo software automatically, i had to restart the entire system, odd any ideas? I still have alot of testing to do with the software and camera, I'll hopefully post some pictures in the coming week to share with ya'll *EDIT* Also thanks for the suggestion on the other cameras, but they were kinda outta my budget of ~400 per camera, what I'm going to end up doing is try to fit this in a standard cctv housing with heater/blower, hopefully that would work better. Also I'm looking into the vigil software from 3xlogic for potential customers who may want ip and analog on one dvr. -
Not sure exactly what your setup is but, i would suggest LCD over plasma due to better life, they are cheaper, and higher resolution for a affordable price.

Another Wave-p ETHER9808 Issue
gfdcxgfd replied to rfernandez_mx's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Sorry for the late response, only thing i can think of if all else fails is 1. reformat to XP SP2 legit version not bootlegged. 2. Dont install the DVR cards when doing the reformat of XP. 3. Install all drivers for motherboard, video, lan, audio, chipset, and so forth. 4. make sure all drivers are installed properly. 5. install dvr card. 6. install latest dvr software. -

Need help designing an IP camera system
gfdcxgfd replied to gfdcxgfd's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
First off thanks for taking the time to reply folks. Next up to answer a few questions: 1. Storage of 2 weeks is fine, 10fps @ 1280x 1024 resolution. 2. I will look into the avermedia nvr software. But just curious anyone have experience with the Luxriot or Nuuo NVR software? 3. I will look at the models ya'll posted when i get some time. Thanks for the information. I will keep ya'll updated with what happens next. -
Another Wave-p ETHER9808 Issue
gfdcxgfd replied to rfernandez_mx's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
yeah that should be fine. BTW here is the exact location of where that driver file is stored: C:\WINDOWS\inf Just look for a file named OEMXX.inf (the XX stands for numbers. There should be multiple files. open up the file in a regular text editor like notepad and then just make sure it has that saavideo.sys written in it or wave p and i would delete that. Also dont forget to delete that saavideo.sys file from there as well! hope it goes well. [/b] -
Another Wave-p ETHER9808 Issue
gfdcxgfd replied to rfernandez_mx's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Yeah its very odd, I am almost 100% sure that its something with the drivers because I fixed another one (yeah i fixed another wavep system.....go figure, its in my destiny to fix these damn wavep stuff.. ) For that system the scenario was the guy initially had 16 cameras, later upgraded to a 24 camera system, had problems with system crashing/freezing ever since then, prob due to some driver change or something? I uninstalled the old one, deleted the files from main system 32 folder i think it was and reinstalled new one....didn't work, ended up reformatting it......and surprisingly! the xp pro that was installed was bootlegged! So after the reformat and installation of I think at that time the 8.0 software i was good to go. only had some crashes when the guy watched it for remotely for over 20 minutes straight, but never freeze....at least to my knowledge. -

gfdcxgfd replied to rfernandez_mx's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
i had an issue with it freeze for a system someone else installed that i had to fix. Do this: Unplug everything from the computer and just have the bare essitentials, mouse, keyboard, video card dongle, monitor cable, power cable and thats it. Unhook the sound cable. and also make sure you have the latest version installed and lets see how that goes, it worked for me. -

That wide screen software always crashed for me too. I suggest you just use the latest software. It crashes only when you are remote viewing for too long.....at least from what my customers have told me. -

I'm not too techinical but, are you using VGA LCDs or BNC LCDs? If BNC I've seen some installs with 4 monitors. With VGA all you would need is just some amplifiers, although, if your going more than 100ft, your gonna have to maybe use another method, like VGA over the CAT5. Hope it helps!

WebDVR "Create Display Failed"
gfdcxgfd replied to nerita777's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
My uncle used to have this problem, different hardware but same problem. What his problem was is the graphics driver. Just get the latest or in my uncles case install one and not use the standard one that windows xp provides if you dont have one of your own. Hope it helps!
