Hi Guy's, ive had a Hikvision DS-7604NI-K1-4P for a couple of years now & running 3x 4mp cameras. This system has never let me down & I do like it, but im looking to upgrade the cameras and have been looking at the Hikvision colorvu cameras. What I want to know, is will my DVR work with these cameras? as I'll be looking to upgrade one at a time due to the high cost of these cameras I welcome any feedback/tips Many thanks in advance ASH

Hi Guy's, at work, we have 3 buildings and although i can run a cable without to much trouble to 2 of them from the office, I have one building which is across the yard and I want to put cameras up. I will be using ip cameras and have already tried power line adaptors (which it doesn't even find the camera), so I'm thinking of putting a point to point system up. The building is about 45m away so running a cable would mean digging a trench straight through the yard. My boss is a bit of a tight git so i wouldn't have a lot of money to spend. and the point to point would be used for CCTV only (no internet access will be needed from the other building) Can anyone give me any tips or ideas? Also, once the point to point is in, whats the maximum distance i would be able to run a wire (is it still 100m through cat5? Many thanks in advance. Ash

Hi guy's. Ive installed a DVR/NVR (combined unit) at work and plugged in the camera into the DVR and all works correctly. Ive also plugged a camera into a POE switch which is on my network and all works fine. Ive then, plugged in a power line adaptor into my poe switch and a camera into the power line (also using a poe injector). The camera on the power line worked after a bit of tinkering, but then stopped. I've tried searching on the NVR system for it and it doesn't seem to find it. Can anyone please give me some advice on what it could be? Also, do i need to setup any port forwarding on my hub? Id appreceate any help that is offered. Many thanks in advance. ASH

Hi Guy's, am I right in thinking that a PTZ ip dosnt need any other cables than a cat 6 cable? If so, Can I control a ptz using powerline adaptors? Many thanks in advance Ash

Hi guy's.. Im looking at updating our cctv at work and was just wondering if anyone has any knowledge of them. Ive been looking at using powerline adaptors which would save running new cabling everywhere. Does anyone know if a PTZ would work over a powerline system?
