AHD Camera Horizontal Lines on Screen
cc16tv replied to cc16tv's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hi, thank you for your advice throughout my set up of the cctv system. I will order the baluns you suggested. Thanks again. -
Hello, I would appreciate any advice and solution to my problem. I have an AHD camera connected to an AHD DVR. I used a cat5 pure copper cable to connect the camera to the DVR. I used one twisted pair for video attached to the BNC and three twisted pair for power. At first the picture was clear and sharp with no horizontal lines going up the screen. What had happened was I pushed the DVR into my TV cabinet and the video wires snapped off the BNC and the power supply to the camera blew. I cut the end of the cat5 cable and redone the wiring to the BNC and power connectors however now the picture is grainy and horizontal lines keep rolling up the picture. I connected the connection again but it made no difference. I am also using another power supply to the camera since the other one blew. Any ideas? Thanks.

AHD Camera Horizontal Lines on Screen

In addition to the above post, I would like your opinion on the following balun that connects to a RJ45: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2pcs-CCTV-Coax-BNC-Video-Power-Balun-Transceiver-to-CAT5e-6-RJ45-Connector-/151993813520?hash=item2363898a10:g:X-4AAOSwB4NWzX50 Will this connector give me the clear picture I am after? I have the crimping tool to connect the RJ45. The balun you suggested seems the most cost effective however it does not carry the power wires. I am wondering if I should change the power connectors which I have with the RJ45 balun since I experienced a power supply blow to one of the camera power adaptors. Will the picture quality be the same between the balun you suggested with the RJ45 balun connector? Thanks. -

Hi, thank you for the link to the correct baluns. So the one I have is the wrong one? Just a bit confused as it worked to start off with but now showing the horizontal lines and the picture is grainy. I also used these power connectors: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12V-DC-Female-Male-Power-Balun-Connector-Adapter-Plug-Jack-Socket-For-CCTV-Cable-/351536734716?var=&hash=item51d938e1fc:m:mEoRAAESXOTYdRMb6N3Sd4w Are these the right type? Not sure why one of the power supplies blew. Thank you for your help. -

No picture from camera on DVR [Floureon]
cc16tv replied to cc16tv's topic in General Digital Discussion
Thanks so much on the quick reply and cause of the problem. That must be the problem I have since I pretty much tried everything else. I assumed it was a HD DVR since it had a hdmi port. Oh well back to eBay to find a compatible DVR. Thanks again, you saved me from spending more hours on trying to work out the fault. -
Hello all, need help from you guys. I have a Floureon 4 channel CCTV DVR, this is a link to the DVR http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FLOUREON-CCTV-4CH-960H-DVR-Record-900TVL-IR-CUT-Home-Security-Camera-System-Kit-/361029979704?hash=item540f104e38:g:bHMAAOSw~oFXNqp4 I only bought the DVR and I bought the camera separately which is also by Floureon here is the link http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FLOUREON-960P-2000TVL-Night-Vision-Waterproof-Outdoor-IR-CCTV-Security-Camera-/371566614474?hash=item56831897ca:g:s-wAAOSwoBtW2DH9 The problem I'm faced with is I can't get a video picture from the camera on the DVR connected to a 32 inch TV with a HDMI cable. I have used a cat5 cable, BNC balun and power balun to connect the camera to the DVR. From the four twisted pair of copper wiring I connected one pair to the BNC connectors and the other three pairs I connected to the power balun. The PSU is independently running the single camera. I can hear the camera make a noise when power is connected, also the red LED lights come on but I get no picture. Any ideas all? Will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
