I have tried both PCI and external. External with Lucent chips as Geovision suggests.

I have tried several modems and none seem to work with the Geovision hotline alert function. The closest that I have gotten is that the modem dials out, but it will not play the wav file message that I recorded when I answer the phone. Geovision will not give out exact an exact model number and manufacturer that is certified to work. I have already tried contacting them. They deter users from using this feature, but we have a client that really needs this to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Geovision replied to me very quick with the Kit and answers to some questions. I wish they did not use proprietary video codecs. I would be able to put together something pretty neat. Email me if you want the SDK and I will email it to you. Thanks. -Mike CCTV Camera Pros

I was wondering if anyone out there has any experience with the Geovision SDK. I am interested in writing an application using it. It is an active x control based on my understanding and I am a total Unix guy so the visual basic examples Geovision provides were not ideal for me.
