  1. Hi Tomcctv, POE switch installed and working correctly, many thanks for your help. Stuart
  2. Hi All, I have recently brought and begun to install an 8ch Swann DVR system with cameras identical to the one listed here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Swann-NVR8-7285-Definition-Recorder-SONVK-872858/dp/B01FM49SXS/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1477384969&sr=8-5&keywords=swann+nhd-810 I currently have three of the cameras running as they should using the 30m ethernet cables provided in the kit. Two of the cameras I have placed further from the DVR using a run of 80m (260ft), this increased distance has been covered by a Cat5E Outdoor Ethernet Cable (FTP - CCA) I have brought separately and runs through loft space for 50m (165ft) and through an underground conduit for 30m (100ft). Here is where the issue lies, I can not seem to receive an image from these two cameras. When connected to the DVR these two cameras are receiving power through the POE, this can be seen by the powering up of the IR lights and also there is a clicking sound as they change from night vision mode to day mode, also the DVR network lights recognise there is a connection from these two cameras. I have tested the cable by using a smaller length of the same cable (10m - 30ft) and this works absolutely fine. I also have the option to supply power through a power adapter directly to the cameras themselves, this I have tried with a 12v 1amp adapter, still with no success, although when speaking to Swann they said a 12v 2amp maximum could be used. I have looked into inline ethernet repeaters to boost the ethernet signal but I am unsure whether this would fix the issue. It would be great to know what other options are available or where else I should be checking to troubleshoot this system. I appreciate you for taking the time to read this post and many thanks in advance for your help. Regards, Stuart
