With the software for viewing on most systems capable of supporting more than one DVR at a time, and to me you would be better with two 16 channel DVR's rather than one. I will leave the choices of DVR's to some of the others here that deal with a larger variety than I do, though I do favor the Nuvico, hope this helps.

It also depends on the camera operating temperature, as to weather you need the heater/fan assembly.

Digia DVR, Bellsouth DSL - odd remote view problem
RickA replied to WMills's topic in Computers/Networking
Sounds like everything on the dvr side is configured properly, also sounds like the modem and dsl are not configured for the dvr, check with the dsl provider to see if they are blocking ports for the dvr or a firewall is turned on the modem, or it needs to be bridged. -
What Scorpion did not tell is that he has those installed in his vehicle.

Digia DVR, Bellsouth DSL - odd remote view problem
RickA replied to WMills's topic in Computers/Networking
DVR can be viewed fine on local network - this confirms its not an incorrect password - Ports have been triple verified to unsure correct ports are forwarded - Remote connection works when connected at another site on comcast isp to verify DVR is functioning properly According to what you have written here everything is working, the LAN side with viewing of the DVR indicates that all is correct. When connecting from the remote site are you able to log in and view? -
Digia DVR, Bellsouth DSL - odd remote view problem
RickA replied to WMills's topic in Computers/Networking
Am I reading this wrong, you say that you can connect over the LAN and that a remote connection is made with a different site on the WAN, which means that everything is working. You might want to check your firewall settings on your computer, also if you are trying to connect via WAN at the site, this may not be possible, some systems will not allow you to do this, but if you are on site why would you not just use the LAN setup? -

Have played time lapse tapes on ordinary vcrs, but I don't recommend doing it that way, causes damage to the vcr. Was this just one channel or is there a mux or switcher inplace? -
Was beginning to think you had deserted us!

Crappy picture... any ideas? sample pic attached

How did the camera work after you turned AGC off? The biggest problem I see with your camera's is that the majority are 1/4" ccd, but that is not a major problem, you can upgrade to better the next time. With the BLC and the camera looking at your driveway, if you do not have any direct light shining into your lens, you should not need BLC on, you may need to adjust your autoiris settings a little but that you should do closer to dusk.Hope this helps. -

Are ther any model numbers on these units? According to what I have been able to find, vineyard is a chip maker not dvr's, but they do call for an mpeg4 codec. Maybe do a search for the model number to find who made the dvr.
