Looking for some help on a system for a gym -Cameras and DVR
RickA replied to drcworld's topic in System Design
Depends on your location, would be best if you have a dealer close to you, then support would be close if needed. I have Direct lvs close to me in Louisville, and have dealt with them for several years. -
CCTV Forums dot com? Just went to that site and looks a lot like this one, but is for the european market.

camera power supply decision
RickA replied to mr.verbal's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
According to the part numbers for the camera's you have posted the seven mini domes require 500ma each and the cd-sd needs 1000ma with LED's on. Hope this helps. -

Tried to access this from my apartment and insight bb, too slow, 1.9 kb, so there has to be a bottleneck in the qwest somewhere. -
Need advice on alarm-triggering CCTV system
RickA replied to quarryworks's topic in General Digital Discussion
I would at least get started with the motion detectors and floodlights that you had mentioned in your first post and maybe run an alarm from one of the motion sensors to your flat. -
The lux rating is also relative to the chip size and the best possible lens combination, why the need for a pin hole lens? Possible use a small bullet or a vandal proof dome. Could give a better determination of camera with some description of the location and what is trying to be achieved.

http://www.dolphincomponents.com/catalog-1.asp Try this for wire connectors, have used these for years. As far as doing a job for 100.00$ and then having to wait till they get paid.... for that money it would be nothing to do with work, just telling the rest what to do, and not being responsible for the job. -

camera power supply decision
RickA replied to mr.verbal's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Depends on the wire runs for the camera's, how far away will they be from the power source? If they are all under 94 feet and using 18-2 then you should be able to get away with an 8 output power supply panel. The one that will require the most will be the IR dome, when the IR led's kick on. Hope this help's. -
Very good job Scorpion, information overload, yes we need to get this as a sticky and keep it , how bout it mod?
