Have used this camera many times, and have had no problem with it, usually turn the DSS off, and with using it outside would turn off the backlight, AGC apply as you like, just make sure you have the barrel tight after you make any adjustments, and insert a fresh dessicant pack. Usually a pretty tight camera, compared to others I have used in the past.

If you are running windows there is a nice little app called mwsnap that would help. If you can play the dvr playback on your computer then you can capture it with this app and convert it to what you can work with. Hope this helps -
Hi John, I don't know if it was the same company or not but it was a very nice menu and set up seemed to be very ez. Please send me a PM of the info if you have time, actually just getting back from a road trip this weekend, so have to get back into the groove again.

"Yeah your right about the wet cold can remember standing guard duty when stationed in your fine state and wearing my watchcap and peacoat due to the cold, and then roasting during the day." Do you need to borrow my glasses, two seperate sentences and had to put something in there to go with the thread.

Warmer today than it was this weekend, and I have been to places that have been colder and also places hotter than in Florida. Yeah your right about the wet cold can remember standing guard duty when stationed in your fine state and wearing my watchcap and peacoat due to the cold, and then roasting during the day. When it comes to formatting the HDD most of the DVR's I have worked on will ask if you want to format them, just a surprise that there is one that doesn't even format, would think there is something in the menu for that.

Need to set up port forwarding in your router for the dvr IP and probably register with DYNDMS.com to keep track of your IP for login purposes or there is another one you can check into besides, there are posts on this subject already that will probably help. -
Anyone have any experience with these camera's? I am bench testing one and just wanted to know your thought's.

Well the mini is still holding it's own and now we are getting hit with a snow storm, about 2.5 to 3 inchs so far and more due over the weekend. This little camera is holding it's own for sure, hope the next one is as good supposed to be afull size 35x ptz, going to put it up next to a panasonic and see how it fairs.

Sounds like good advice, as the saying goes" let the buyer beware". Have to research almost anything on Ebay, before you buy anymore.

Do you have a static or dynamic IP? Have you set up port forwarding on your router?Being able to connect via your home computer sounds like you have the basics right. -

Some of the standalone dvr's can be menu operable with a mouse and quite a few also have remote's. -

According to the model and the Pelco installatio manual this unit has 17 bnc's on the back, 8 camera inputs, 8 camera outputs and one monitor output. hope this helps
-
All models feature terminating inputs (which can easily be converted to looping inputs for applications requiring looping switchers), Took this straight from the spec sheet you posted.
-
Should be eight bnc inputs to the switcher and eight outputs from the switcher, run eight camera's to the switcher and then run eight to the dvr from the switcher. That will allow contol of the display of cameras on the monitor on the switcher and should provide good signal to the dvr.

If you download a backup file from the dvr and then view it?
-
Nope, I just received an e-zine from them this past week.

Hello Aaron, welcome to the forum.

I am not familiar with the Avtech but the others I have used usually have to select which camera the sound is assigned to in order to have sound play back.

Looks like the contest is over for now.... Hope someone won, course with only one entry, at least there is no judging to be done. Many Thanks to all who posted and to all who read and visited our site.
