Appears to be a very nice unit, this unit has directions for replacing hdd and also adding extra hdd. Has been recording for a week and has not missed a beat. So far so good.

Check BNC connections at camera and at DVR, use test monitor to see if video is present at DVR end. May need to reboot DVR to re establish connection.

Do you have playback at the DVR?

Tried to look up on the site, could not access the manual,http://wwwdotacutvistadotcomdottw/Indoor-PT.htm# replace dot with . Usually the address is determined by dip switch settings, but not having worked with this camera, I don't want to guess. Try contacting support, maybe they will send you a manual, maybe in pdf by e-mail.

Not much into doing the card installs, usually do standalone dvrs, so I have no opinion on the different cards and software. The RCA-BNC adapters usually work good, better with RG-59 with BNC. Hope this helps.

Usually place the new card on the door when expanding the altronix, so make sure the placement is not going to make contact with a possible "short" when you close the door.

As long as nothing protrudes through the double stick tape, do not want any potential shorts, and make sure that there are no contact points on the cb.

According to the website and what you have the computer is more than capable of running this system, check to see if the card was installed and the capture card drivers are loaded. Welcome to the forum.

Don't know if I looked at the right camera but the Sony 473 specs seem good and should work fine for the application that you have described, hopefully with varifocal a/i lens. Good luck,

What kind of camera, dome, bullet? Inside or out? Have had some that the dip switch settings will give a water type image in low light.

I know this is a Digimerge system, but someone must have some opinions?

Inexpensive system replacing a VCR, rest of the system is good, just plug and go. Not my favorite, but if it is the customer's request.

If the power light is flashing all the time, then you are not getting any signal, try connecting with a different source. Check your connections might be loose.
