How about 200-300 of the camera heaters, so I don't have to buy the wife a new microwave

Collin had some good suggestions to help diffuse the light from the LED's, I would try the scotch tape to see if it helps, not the clear type. Then if the picture improves try sandblasting the area around the led's.

Would that be anything like using them for ballast or maybe sinkers for fishing?

That's why you only use that for the DVR connection and nothing else. -

With Firefox you could also add the IE plugin and use it for the dvr connection. -

Usually use a cord plug, can get them with grounded cords at electrical supply.

I would follow Rory's advice and keep the power close to the camera's especially using 12vdc, if not possible then use seperate power wire.

Anyone interested, finally got around to programming this camera, got it set up to tour and letting it run to see if the motors will stand up. still have not found any numbers on the camera or box, but it seems to be a very nice mini ptz.

Rory the ICR-149 looks to be the same bullet we carry and the new sony chipset is supposed to perform better in low light, they do have a good picture and the external adjustments are nice, hope this helps.

Sorry bout the link was looking at the 24vac to 12vdc adapter and just stuck the link in, but if you ever want to upgrade to better camera, or if the runs are long, will be better off with 24vac. -
Help with Altronix Power Supply Selection
RickA replied to moe's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
12vdc only needs two wires, the ground is for the box and 120vac, and here is a link for 24vac to 12vdc if you upgrade to different cameras you may want to go with the 24vac power supply [edit by mod-store link removed] -

Help with Altronix Power Supply Selection
RickA replied to moe's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
altv615dc8ul should do the job, if in need of 24vac for one camera then use a seperate single power supply for it. you will have to consider the length of time that the camera will be below its operating temp, better to be safe than sorry. -
Help with Altronix Power Supply Selection
RickA replied to moe's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
With 5-6 camera's will need to use an 8 output box, if you use the 24vac then you will have to have step down transformers to 12vdc, or just use the 12vdc and hope you don't need 24vac. Also depends on wall mount, rack mount. -

Yes I read that , no there is no label on this one, made in Korea, we are testing this to see if we want to carry it, it is just a mini endless ptz tamper proof dome, has nice control 10x optical zoom and a 10x digital zoom, running it with baluns and cat5 right now.
