Why do some of my cams have Blue Tint (see attached image)
RickA replied to jo2jo's topic in Security Cameras
Seems to be the spot where the dip switch board should be, AES, BLC, are settings that are on the dip switch settings, your camera must not be equiped with those settings. Is there a potentiometer close to that part of the board? -
What size Transformers? What is the amp requirements for the camera's?

RickA replied to jo2jo's topic in Security Cameras
No, don't solder, if there are no dip switch settings, then you cannot set AES, and we have found that with the new sony chipset that with a light colored background and auto iris lens that you will get a blue tint, but if AES is turned off and you adjust the auto iris you can eliminate most of the blue. -

What is the camera you are using? What is the chipset? -
The link I provided was to the setup manual, and according to it if you do not have the passwords, the unit has to be returned to DM to be reset, cannot do it in the field, sorry.

Who has the pass? if you check out the installers manual?

Or replace the two wire lamp cord with a three wire ground cord, is not going to help the original wiring, but helps if your using a well wired cicuit.

Slim CCTV cable for short run - like bullet camera cable
RickA replied to Smith's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Some of the cctv suppliers will carry those cables too, one that comes to mind is Direct lvs (low voltage supply) there are probably others too. -
Digimerge website has the manuals that show all the info to access and change the password, if the password has not been changed it will be all zeros.

VisualGate Systems Inc. Has anyone seen this new product?
RickA replied to rkm's topic in Security Cameras
They were here at our company about three weeks ago training presentation on that equipment, looked good then, but think it would be something more for home use, more than any type of consumer application. Hope this helps -
How to deal with waterproof camera with mist ?

Also helps to install dessicant gel pacs inside of the camera. -
How much hard drive space is required for DVR recording?
RickA replied to cctvmeister's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
They could be limiting the size of the HDD due to how the BIOS was written, also as to the max size tested with the system. -
Keep us updated on how they work for you, and have a good one!
-
Plumbers putty, have always used exterior silicon caulk to do ours, depends a lot on what area you are applying it to. Usually apply around the base and around the wire and cable to seal that area from a difference in climate, and yes the dessicant pacs are to dry the inside of the camera after it is sealed. The dome usually has a good seal and does not need any extra.
-
Have not used any of the DVR's listed, so have no opinion on them. American Dynamics tech support is another matter, but if ya have nothing nice to say, say nothing.
-
set hdd as slave with jumper if your DoM is set as master.
-
check out the Nuvico line at directlvs or the nuvico website, have installed several of the nvdv-4 series and they come in sizes up to 1.2 TB, hope this helps.
-
You will need to seal the camera, we have had many occurrences with just an opening to the interior climate of the camera and any opening to a different climate causing moisture in domes and bullet cameras. Added extra silica gel pacs and sealed the camera, cured the problem.
