Not knowing your location, I would suggest locating the local dealers for recommendations. I have used a lot of the different dvrs, but being a manufacturer tech support, I like the ones we have. Some of the others might chime in with thier favorites. Good Luck -

Hello and welcome, with having brownouts, you should consider having the dvr on a battery b/u ups. power to the hdd in these systems can be critical and cause failure of the hdd which you have already discovered. Hope this helps. -

Have you checked the ip address on the router and the dvr? Can you ping the system on the lan? -

What about the amp requirements for the camera, and what is the amp that are supplied by the transformer?

Without knowing the type of camera I suggest checking and setting BLC.
