Thank you all for replying to my question for recommendation...I do appreciated very much. I do try to get the best i can for the money by watching company advertisements, see on internet demo if possible and most of all by asking forum members that used this before to give me some input. I do respect Rory comment, because long times ago he has help me alot with another system ( I know he complained a lot about import taxes, and duties etc... but he spoke like he felt about the product). Thank you all again.

Thanks Birdman Adam...that was not too much to ask is it. I have been reading about the CNB, but of lately, people distance themselves from it, therefore I have second thought about using them. I guess am looking for confirmation that it's good enough for the price as compared to other brands. Thank you.

Thanks I get that a lot ---- usually in those cases, we prefer the customer take others recommendations - I'm sorry for wasting your time. If that is what you get a lot...then why you keep doing it...how does that help me? There are thousand of brands, quality, prices, how do people like me (not in the profession) able to determine what's good for my situation without starting to ask questions first. I have been reading info from this forum to see if I can pick up anything which would help me deciding which brand or make model to use for my situation ( which is part of the research). If according to your input, everybody here needs not ask any question but to ask all company to do demo for them? Be for real, who the hell can do all that? What you told me is ideal situation, which is 100% correct, but common man...it's unrealistic.

Thank you for your input. I'm a novice, do it yourself, try to do it right by take experienced people (those that seen it, did it before me) recommendation, sugestion, and make my own determination if that products will works for me. I valued these recommendation, helpful hints, from these people here, your recommendation as of right now did not help me a bit. Thanks.

I'm in the process of putting together a residental system (mine) pc dvr (Geo-8 channels card) with 5 camera outdoor and 3 indoor. I'm having problem of selecting what camera to buy. I have been reading about the CNB but according to some people here (Rory and others), they not too much in favored with them. To quote " Im distancing myself from the CNB cameras now after my last job using them (other than maybe the dfl-20s), they just dont seem to have the quality. In fact they look gawd awful on some DVRs, while other cameras, even cheap no name ones, do a better job. They do have the low light capability that many others dont, but the daytime color images tend to be mostly bad." So if you guys can recommend some brand, model of camera (dome) in the same money ranges I would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi all... Thanks anyway...find answer to my own ?....for those interested....Choosing video source, go to 1. configure 2. video source 3. video standard (one used in your country) 4. video resolution...
-
Hi all... Sorry if this is elementary...but I can't find anywhere (looking in config, cameras...) to change the resolution of the recording (version 8.0). I was looking at the older mannual of geo, it does show place in camera section to change the video resolution but that place not exist in the version 8.0... Please point me to the right direction... Thank you.

Sir Flannel...Yes it is odd indeed. I've been reading in here for long time, I thought i had read from Rory that he using Oem xp and no problem what so ever...and also many member here also stated that they do have the key when purchansing it....not in my case however...went back looking for shrink wrap...no cigar...no keys... strange indeed (as you can also read from newegg's customer services email to me with the explanation.).

Hi Rene... I know i'm in the wrong section, but since you using the geo card, could you tell me how dificult it will be to install and configure the card (software wise)? Is there good directions to follow or you just swing it like i did with the pc (I do alot of reading prior dipping my hand). Thanks -
Okay... I wrote to newegg and explain again that i need the product key to continue with the loading process of the software and they wrote back with the same explaination that they do not provide microsoft product keys (?). I needed to contact the manufacture (microsoft) to get the key. So I call Microsoft and explain the situation and give them the information in which newegg had given me (Newegg, the lady name, her id, their phone #). I believe I spoke to someone from India (call center), they was very nice to me, explained that i should not buy OEM and to buy retail version from now on (I did not know anything about OEM was until now). Any how they give me a new key and all is well. So I'm writing this to let people like me (newbies), be aware of this (ALWAYS READ THE FINE PRINTS).

Hello CCTVCams...thank you for your help. I follow Rene direction and format and configured the drive E (320gigs). It's is now show up in my computer, as drive C for the 80 gigs and drive E for 320. So my question now is this, do i have to set jumpers too? they are sata drives with their own cable and everything?
