You've got PC software to view the cameras while at home or away plus you've got iOS and Android applications available which you open up scan the QR code from your DVR or type in the number from the DVR into your smartphone and it'll connect up and you'll be live viewing without any messy portforwarding/firewall and dynamic DNS etc. I've set the front door, back door and garage door which point in a way that motion should only occur if someone is going to be standing in view of the camera and I get email alerts with snapshots of who it is. Hope this helps a little. There are very very similar systems available as above available from SWANN but the price does jump a little. Thermal - I've not heard of that really not in my price range.

If you download that and it works while your at home connected to your WiFi then when you are out you'll need to setup a Dynamic DNS account with someone so your router or DVR can send the current IP address to the dynamic DNS provider so you can connect when not on the same network. Does your DVR provide any QR code or smart code or number to login to an application if it does then you might not even need Dynamic DNS and just to type this number into the application and it'll do the work for you.

Are you using a splitter cable as such? Make sure this isn't damaged or change it out for a new one just in case, else connect up only one camera to the box and power it using the power supply to see if one appears if it does I would said the splitter is damaged or the power supply isn't powerful enough to do all 8 cameras at once.

Hi guys I'm on a budget and was going to upgrade or just add another system alongside current system. The current system I've got I won a while ago on eBay for sub £200 which was a 8 camera system from H.VIEW on eBay which has since dropped in price I think. H.View 8CH 720P CCTV System Hybrid AHD DVR 8X 1.0 MP IR Outdoor Security Cameras It is a pretty alright system it records fine and emails when motion is detected on certain cameras I've chosen and I can connect when away from home using IP-Pro on Android so for the price at the time I think it does fine, however I was wondering if it is worth changing it for a new system or putting a newer system alongside it? I know it is only four cameras but I don't mind I could put it alongside the current system. The only thing that puts me off is I get decent images from the current system day and night and I can read number plates in the daytime for sure but these new cameras on this kit have twin array IR? where as the old system has like 30 odd around each camera?
