what camera is it. check the seals & see if it has a fan & heater. maybe the heater is knackered.

do as said above. when it is blue disconnect it from your dvr & put it straight in to your monitor. is it still blue. if it is then it would be pointing towards your camera. is it day & night camera as if it is it could be the iris sticking which would explain the power off to fix. which in simple terms means your camera module usually sony is goosed. i dont think it would be a capacitor as you would see it straight away. if you find it is not blue when connecting to the monitor - what dvr are you using & does it have a required video paek to peak input. maybe your on the low end of this tolerance. i have a new dennard dome if your interested.

generally the controller will have a few protocols in it. you need to find out what protocols your camera will work of & then look at the spec of the controller & see what protocols that can do.

the ultrak dome has diamond & i think honeywell protocol. honeywell have taken over the ultrak dome.it may have molynx but does not have bbv as far as i am aware. but what you can do is if you have a unit that does have bbv then you need to purchase a bbv rx100. what this does is take bbv from your controller & then converts this to ultrak 485 to control the dome. check bbvcctv website. its com. (they still wont let me put a flippin website address yet) & look at the rx100. if you scroll down towards the end of the manual it explains what you can get out of the dome.

you don't connect your data cables. you take the coax from the dome & connect it in to your multiplexer (uniplex) doesn't matter if its camera 1,2,3 etc. take the hemisphere of the dome & put the blue pot to F & the yellow pot to D. when you power the dome up it should say DEN PANEL, then on your multiplexer set the telemetry to BBV which is coax. you should then be able to control your dome.

it is fact that if you have 1 camera recording at 6pps & a file size of 18kb the usage on your hard drive will be 10gig a day. the best solution as the guy above was saying is to purchase a dvr. you can get many different varietys. personally i go for dedicated micros as there better than most. if you have static cameras then you dont need telemetry then go for the eco range. eco 4 - 4 cameras, eco 9 & eco 16. they are network ready & the software to run them is downloadable free of charge to put on your pc so you can view them, playback events & download images or events from your eco to your pc. if you want telemetry then go up a range to the SD. if your after the top spec go for the DS2. the netvu ds2 can go up to 100pps the older ds2 can go up to 50pps. all networkable & the software wont cost you anything. you can also add ip cams on to this system. i think they accept some jvc models & axis.

i think there about £400 new. ebay may have some. if your still stuck i could probably sort you out with 1 for £200. see how you get on. the pin outs are centre pin is earth which is pin 7. 1 & 2 are your video 3 & 4 are 485 data & 5 & 6 are power. the uniplex system may have bbv. you need to check your uniplex. if it does not have a cbus on the back then it is dtmf if it does have a cbus connection then it will have bbv. so mate to get your kit up & running 1. does uniplex have a cbus port on the back? 2. no, then you need to purchase a dtx400 3. yes, then set the dome to blue f yellow d on the pots inside the dome head. connect coax to uniplex. set the telemetry protocol to bbv. wahoo you have a moving controllable dome. piece of piss mate.

both have there place but you cant beat how its suppose to be. everyone goes on about flippin ip. how many times do you go on the internet & 1 day its good & quick & the next its slow as well ya no what i mean. no im not talking about my pc im talkin about everyones. ok so like that you have a ip camera on a network & that network gets busy so your cctv is going to be jerky & slow. network goes down then your camera is off. analogue is great unless cut cable or rats chewing on it. why not have both so if the network does go down then you have your analogue still going.

can anyone please tell me how i can stop my new dome from going to preset position. with out pulling the plug LOL. i have a dedicated micros /kbs2 controler going though a bbv to my vlc 360 vision dome. answer im hoping you have telmetry of your dome. firstly to delete a preset double tap the preset key & enter the number of the preset you want to delete. its like that on the kbs3 & im sure its like that on the kbs2. i think the reason your dome keeps going on a tour tho is because of the jumpers on you bbv rx100. what you need to do is on (i think) J6 remove the jumpers. or basically leave the test jumper on in the middle & remove all the others. now it wont go on a tour. hope this helps.

hi mate. to start with i dont know much about the geovision gv 800. i guess you want a dome & to record it on your pc. i know everything about the dennard dome. i think your best choice would be to buy a controller to control the dome & just record the video on your pc. you could look for a bbv dtx400dc which is a 1 to 1 keyboard. you connect the coax from your dome in to the keyboard. you would then need to take the output from the keyboard into your pc. the connector type from the output is a bnc. so whatever pc video input you have you need to convert the bmc to that. there cheap im sure.

the gent above is totally correct. you need a controller that has bbv. the tx1000 by bbv is a good choice but if it is only the one camera you have you could use the bbv dtx400dc keyboard. you plug your coax in then the output either to a monitor or recorder (dvr) and your away. if you struggle with finding a bbv coax controller then what 485 telemetry does your dome have. you could get a 485 to bbv coax convertor.

its dtmf telemetry on the uniplex. its old ****. not used much now apart from maybe controlling old pan & tilt heads.
