  1. aquamon said, I guess aquamon belives CCTV are of no value and EVERYONE should "just accept it"........... Why are we at this forum then?.......... I just want to know if DVRs above that can control the camera's zoom. help
  2. DVR that can controle the camera's zoom? Hi, I don't know much about CCTV stuff but as you know I am interested in the "Samsung 43x Zoom" (analog) for their long range ability. People steal coconuts from my farm, so I want to set up cameras on a hill (on the roof of a friend's house) that over looks the road that runs along side my land. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PDF https://www.aseko.fi/_globalimg/ngj_liite/2454/Samsung_SCZ3430_2430_Esite.pdf youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YUZ3TIewf5A eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-A1-Series-SCZ-3430P-43x-Zoom-Day-Night-High-Resolution-WDR-Camera-CCTV-/262198114060?hash=item3d0c39b70c:g:8QMAAOSw~otWdB7y or http://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-A1-Series-SCZ-3430P-43x-Zoom-Day-Night-High-Resolution-WDR-Camera-CCTV-/222345507540?hash=item33c4d332d4:g:2zIAAOSwmLlX~2jX --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Would know any reason why the DVR below can't work with or control the zoom of the above camera? I want to add wireless video transmission later on. (a UPS and PC monitor are needed too I guess) What other things do you think I would need to start. Thanks.
  3. The people that coordinate the stealing of my family's coconut live on the other side the road that run along the coconut field. They hire random people from outside the area (that lives who knows where) to steal for them, in broad daylight. (so seeing someones face is of little help). MY house is a 3-4 minute walk from the..."stealing zone" but I can't spend the whole day (or my whole dam life) checking on them, going in the field every hour, every day. Less trouble to watch a split screen monitor, watching if and when some is carrying coconuts across the road. We run a "Botanical garden tour" in my yard so it takes up more of our time than the coconut field. 2 things. 1: I want to know when coconuts are being stolen BEFORE I leave the yard, (so I get a couple of the guys to come with me) The police are 15 minuets away, IF they have a working vehicle that day. 2: The people that coordinate the stealing of my family's coconut live on the other side the road that run along the coconut field. So, if I can show the police, coconuts being carried from my field to their yard....it shows they are involved with the stealing. It's no longer my word vs. their word. My friend's house (on the hill) to the "stealing zone" is ABOUT 0.8 KM, I guess. .............the "code" was to help keep the post looking neat. I am not great at typing or spelling.
  4. From your reply I guess it's not important. Power failures would mess up my hard drive & I would have to use a partition tool (surface read) to fix it......sorry, I don't think I will be of any help to you.
  5. Do you use a UPS (Uninterruptible power supply)?
