What's the model #. CPD561 CPD560 CPD502A CPD501 I would like to look at the manual, maybe I can find it online. Does it mention the ports in the manual? Does the port #'s match on the server and router?

I have no idea. Manual not available for download. Could you upload the manual? Are you sure the port is forwarded the right way. Are you remoting through web or client?

first thing is to give the dvr a static IP. Then open the ports for that IP. Try connecting using your public IP and not your dyndns. If it works with your public IP then you can fine tune you dyndns account to be forwarded properly. Which DVR is it (model)? Does it require more than one port?

I don't guarantee this because i have neve used or tested sny of the cameras. If you have three units you may want to try and set it up on one that dosen't have any PTZ cams setup as yet. I hope it works out for you. Report your findings.

This is all I can find on this unit. I feel your pain man. I'm sure well get through this. This is the same problem I had with that install mentioned earlier, and the cam's I used is very highly rated not to mention the price, just as high as the ratings.

DMX (H.264 Level Codec Engine) DMX is a built in codec engine developed internally by the manufacturer MIVision. It is different from Linux or Windows operating systems. It provides for excellent image quality and high compression of file size. DMX provides 30-50% better image compression and quality than the current MPEG4 based products (the majority of current DVR's still use inferior MPEG4 compression), thus using less storage space than other low end DVR's DMX optimizes network transmission so it can transfer superior and clear images even on slower networks DMX is highly reliable to be free from hacking and viruses DMX only requires 5-10 seconds to boot up while products embedded on Linux or Windows based computers will take 30-60 seconds (or longer). Short booting time provides greatly increased security. P.S. I hope you mite be willing to share on your finds.

That's what I do now. I quote customers on the best products I know, which cost more than an average install which results in me not getting the job. But I have had a few who called on me a couple weeks after they had the install done by somone else for a great deal, which turned out to be what they realy didn't want. That's when they PAY. They usualy ask if they can pay the difference from my quote to what they had already paid for what was installed. NO. So now i just quote the best to my ability and that's that. You win some you lose some. I know, in my case you're probably saying lose most, but that's fine as long as I don't have to put out for someone elses comfort. Most customers (small one's) want the best for nothing, so I provide three quotes with pics and details on the difference of the equipment. They sign an acceptance and fax it to me or I just never hear from them until they get that great deal.

Had this problem with other cards, turned out to be faulty card.

This is confussing. Are you using the same cpu in both places? Do you have any other ports forwarded on the router for other devices? How are you trying to connect (ip address : port no.) or dns server? I'm realy lost at this point. I actually installed one like this from Eyemax with no problems on the remote side from inside or outside. I normaly use ports in the 9000 range to avoid any conflicts because not many if any devices use these ports by default and IP Addresses in the 50 range which I know customers with small networks will not have many devices to reach that IP. I also setup there routers to hand out dhcp addresses above 100. If you want I can try and provide some remote assistance. Not sure if it will help any. Dose your router have VPN capabilities?

Why don't you put the DVR's IP in the DMZ and see if it works. If it works in DMZ then it's definitly a setting issue on the router, if it dosen't then you may ports blocked by your ISP.

I saw somewhere can't remember site, that they offer IR that is not visible to the human eye (no red lights) when looking at the led's. So far all the cameras I've seen or tested show red when led's are on. Has any one seen this or know what it's discription will be when shopping?

Yep, read all these posts before posting my self. I'm currently using the Telpix 50E49AVF for my home which isn't too bad on the quality at arround 10-15 feet with some artificial lighting, but anything below 10 feet is a total washout.

Do you have anything installed for your personal use? eg:-home/Office.

I know. But sometimes it's realy frustrating to have guy's on the job, complete the install, everything looks great, only to find out you have to go back and do over because of some flaws in the image overnight. Not to mention the various amount of equipment purchased just for testing sitting in my garage collecting dust. I have yet to find a product that I will install for my own home and be trully satisfied. Anyway I guest I'll have to keep buying and testing untill we get where we will like to be.

Dude how do you keep up with all this stuff? Being in the field makes it very difficult to research and test. Most of the suppliers in my area recomend the lower quality products mainly stuff that's on there shelves.

Thanks for the reply. I looked at the Extreme line, but I was looking for something with a little better physical appearance. 'I may have failed to mention that this install was done on a 4mth old house' Not to sure how thermal imaging will apply to this install.

There isn't any budget as far as the customer is concerned. The budget I was referring to was what I had quoted the customer to install this system. I recommended and installed what I thought was appropriate for this application for which I was totally wrong. I haven’t really seen a thru Day/Night Camera with IR and exceptional quality. If I was to replace these cameras, what will you recommend? Let’s say we had no budget.

Honestly, their DVR is not good, the image is bad. I think their DSP is not good, need to check what dsp they apply. You can try other brands from China like Tmvideo, their image quality is really good, philips DSP is applied, you can check their image through IE. Where is TMVideo products available for purchase?
