    camera power supply decision

So without the IR LED's on you're probably looking at around 500mA or 620mA at most. But you want to get a power supply that is regulated and can support 1Amp a channel (1,000mA) and uhm... plugging that many things into a wall gives your customer another reason to be unhappy with the purchase! Consider a DC-9 Channel power supply box, they are much nicer and you can get a 9Channel with 1Amp per channel or possibly a 16Channel with 500mA per channel. Would you like me to snap you a picture of one setup so you can get an idea of how they are setup? Thanks, John Yea John I would appreciate it if you could just give me a visualization of the setup. Thanks One question, there wouldnt be any problems with the 7 cameras and the 1 IR LED camera due to differences in mA? I plan to keep the IR on which makes it 1Amp. Thanks again.

    camera power supply decision

would that multi output fused power supply be able to handle the camera with IR as well? Do you have any recommendations of which multi output fused power supply I should use for these cameras that would last long, fair price, and quality

    camera power supply decision

Holy Smokes!! Lets see. How many power strips will I need? Where will I put the power strips for the 8 12 volt "wall warts". Can I plug the second power strip in to the first power strip? Shall I bolt the power strips to the wall behind some furniture where they can hide? If I have 8 wall warts, 1 DVR, 1 monitor, 1 table lamp, 1 table clock will I exceed the limitations of my circuit breaker? Will my fire marshall drop dead from a heart attack when he sees all of those wires laying on my carpet??? OK! OK! I am over doing it, but it is food for thought! lol thats true, I was wondering the same thing in the end. I guess I'll have to go with the suggestion of a multi-power supply with fuses.
  5. Hi I just purchased a 7 nuvico cd-d4n compact day/night color dome camera w/ 3-axis gimbel. it uses 12VDC also 1 nuvico Easyview cd-sd series indoor 550 tvl day/night dome camera with 36 ir leds it uses 12VDC/24VAC Dual Voltage My question is do I need to get 8 12V dc power adaptors for each camera or do i need to get a 12V multi-power supply. I'm not doing the installing, however I'm having certified electricians install it I want to get a head start on what I need to get instead of them charging me insane prices on accessories. Thank you for your time

    My Nuvico Store System

Hi I'm installing a Nuvico system for my store and I was wondering if I could get some feedback on my setup. I'm planning on installing 2 NVJV-4080 4 CHANNEL DVR w/NETWORKING from 123securityproducts and for the cameras 8 NUVICO CD-D4N COMPACT DAY/NIGHT COLOR DOME CAMERA W/ 3-AXIS GIMBEL from 123securityproducts The DVR uses MJPEG Compression, was wondering if I'll encounter problems with viewing the videos from a PC. Would I also be able to save the videos from the DVR to my PC? I'm having professionals install this for me since I have no experience in installing such a security system. Anything else I need to get? I'm getting 2 additional monitors but do i need things such as mounting brackets, wires, power supply, etc. Please leave feedback and any answers to my questions Thank you for your time and I hope this would work out.

    8 or 4 channel

Hi I've been doing some research and I currently have NUVICO NVDV-410 N model in one of my stores. Its a reliable model and I've had no problems with it so far. I looked at the current NUVICO models the JV series , DV3 series, and the DV4 series. What are the major differences between them? Also what kind of cameras should I purchase? The NUVICO brand or any other brand? And I need the cameras to be in color and medium quality video. If anyone can make any suggestions to this setup please do so. Thank you for your time. Shocked

8 channel or two 4 channel dvrs

thanks for the suggestion RickA. So with one 8 channel dvr I could split into two screens (two 4 screen monitors). If thats the case, I would get the 8 channel dvr. If anyone has any further camera suggestions it is welcome. Thanks.

8 channel or two 4 channel dvrs

Hi I've been doing some research and I currently have NUVICO NVDV-410 N model in one of my stores. Its a reliable model and I've had no problems with it so far. I need a camera and dvr setup for another store I have. I need two 4-channel dvrs. One for watching customers and merchandise. And another one for only me to see in my office for watching employees and behind the counter. Should I use one NUVICO 8-channel dvr or two NUVICO 4-channel dvrs? Does the NUVICO 8-channel dvr have a function where you could split the displays as I described above? I looked at the current NUVICO models the JV series , DV3 series, and the DV4 series. What are the major differences between them? Also what kind of cameras should I purchase? The NUVICO brand or any other brand? And I need the cameras to be in color and medium quality video. If anyone can make any suggestions to this setup please do so. Thank you for your time.

Looking for decent dvr system for store

Hi I would like to buy 2 4-channel embedded dvrs with analog signal. I also want to be able to access the videos in the harddrive through the internet. This camera setup is for a store environment. I would also like medium quality resolution with color. If anyone has any suggestions on a quality 4-channel dvr system please reply or pm me. Thank you for your time.
  11. Hello everyone, I read through a couple threads and I see that a lot of people here give good advice on surveillance selections. I have a store and I would like to get a decent 8-channel dvr for security purposes. If anyone has good recommendations please post them. I'm looking for a setup also including cameras and accessories in the $1,000 - $2,000 range. And if anyone has good advice in what field certain companies are strong in and what price range it should be . Thank you for your time.
