I am currently running a 16 channel QVIS iApollo analogue DVR which has served me well over the last 4 or so years. I have been recently turning my eyes to the future and looking to upgrade to an IP based system.
I have a a couple questions to help me better understand them;
1. If an NVR has 16 individual PoE ports (advertised as 16 channels), can the PoE capability generally be turned off? (just thinking of switches etc being used in between the NVR and cameras), I have a dahua NVR in mind.
2. A follow on from Q1, if I have multiple cams connected to a switch upstream from the NVR and those multiple cams coming bach one one CAT5e, will I be able to potentially use more than 16 cameras on my NVR as long as I don't go over the total bandwidth (eg 200mbps).
