Password reset for Panasonic WJ-HL204
alanduy1 replied to krist's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
if u took over a system from another owner and do not know use and password. U need to call the alarm company and they can call the maufacturer and reset with mac address below or behind DVR. its security measure. If u are the owner. U can talk to tech support urself see if they can help. Panasonic is not commonly used by alarm company. -
dont use port 80 change to 8080. also each port should be both. Ur problem is u need to use the external IP address yo view ur cameras remotely. not the address 192.168.1.whatever. plug ur laptop into ur router and goto WHAT IS MY IP ADDRESS. put that number onto ur phone ipad etc and the port. the 192.168.1. whatever is ur LAN. that's what u want to view on ur desktop http://192.168.0.1:3777

Need recommendations for home system
alanduy1 replied to Hawkfanatic's topic in General Digital Discussion
a typical camera system for 1 story home is 8 cameras. 2 front, 2 rear,2 left side and 2 right. u should be able to see the whole surrounding . there no such thing as 1 camera. only for doorbell. -
if u want to view license plates. u need to point specific camera at that location and having the lense to zoom in on it, or have a 5 MP IP. then again u can have a pan and tilt watchdog camera with built in illumnation which will cost u. that u can zoom a 1/4 mile away.what u get is what u pay for in USA

HIK vision are commom used by professionals or alarm companies while Dahua is new. of course, how much money u willing to invest. there's wbox, watchdog, Look into ADI and what brands they carry. they are the main distributors to all alarm companies in the US

if u custom setting each camera in NVR due to lighting. it should work fine. MP cameras are sensitive. Alot of times it's the connector bad on both ends and CAT wiring nicked
