Password reset for Panasonic WJ-HL204

if u took over a system from another owner and do not know use and password. U need to call the alarm company and they can call the maufacturer and reset with mac address below or behind DVR. its security measure. If u are the owner. U can talk to tech support urself see if they can help. Panasonic is not commonly used by alarm company. -
dont use port 80 change to 8080. also each port should be both. Ur problem is u need to use the external IP address yo view ur cameras remotely. not the address 192.168.1.whatever. plug ur laptop into ur router and goto WHAT IS MY IP ADDRESS. put that number onto ur phone ipad etc and the port. the 192.168.1. whatever is ur LAN. that's what u want to view on ur desktop http://192.168.0.1:3777

just install another camera into ur system if u have available with a varifocal lens. no need to run electrical ouy there. -

redo the connectors and make sure the wiring harness not bet when mounted on wall. if this did not solve clear clean pic, its the camera. iy look as if it is grounded . I was so pissed i ran new wiring and return for new camera. it solved my issue. swap cameras if solves it. can be connector, wiring harness, or even wire -
its user end preset sttings for each camera. Do u even have a keyboard for controlling the PTZ camera. if not, u better get one

a typical camera system for 1 story home is 8 cameras. 2 front, 2 rear,2 left side and 2 right. u should be able to see the whole surrounding . there no such thing as 1 camera. only for doorbell. -
if u want to view license plates. u need to point specific camera at that location and having the lense to zoom in on it, or have a 5 MP IP. then again u can have a pan and tilt watchdog camera with built in illumnation which will cost u. that u can zoom a 1/4 mile away.what u get is what u pay for in USA

HIK vision are commom used by professionals or alarm companies while Dahua is new. of course, how much money u willing to invest. there's wbox, watchdog, Look into ADI and what brands they carry. they are the main distributors to all alarm companies in the US

use a box analog camera with 2.8-12mm varifocal lens. not fixed camera

if u want to view from ur phone or i[pda. use external/public ip address. 192.168.0.1 etc is ur internal. its a port forward issue and very simple. u need to log into ur router and port forward using the internal address and ports. on ur phone, use the external address. goto plug ur laptop into ur router and goto what is my ip address, hard to ex[plain, just know the difference

if u custom setting each camera in NVR due to lighting. it should work fine. MP cameras are sensitive. Alot of times it's the connector bad on both ends and CAT wiring nicked
