It should boot without any hard drive, imo.

This was too amusing a question: This is your answer. Other browser: Mozilla You may also want to scrap that entire idea and go with Raspberry Pi which I am sure you can google yourself or within this site... As the man says, NOPE!!! And, with all these Chinese FAKES floating around, I think I just will! Or, just buy this? -

Sorry, unable to help you there if at all possible (not worth my time and maybe yours). No monitor specified. No camera "DVR" specified. Good luck! -

You are right! Inglush very very bad; so, not able to follow...RTFM? pg. 13. 3. Instead of https://192.168.1.20, use the camera's IP you wish to view. -
Funny, I could never get IE to work on Win7 (for DVR viewing), I was able to view immediately using default Firefox on Ubuntu 10.04 (comes with two Apple extensions by default). Even using IE-Tab fails on Firefox in my case.

hikvision NVR ds7608 sp rebooting every 10 minutes
aquamon replied to Raafat's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Unplugged which Camera? The one that the "rebooting stops" is at fault, maybe its wiring... -
Why even bother with a "router" when your modem already has "Ethernet ports"? Plug you DVR straight into one of your modem's Ethernet Ports and forget your confusion. Visit http://www.hikvision.com for more info. Oh, let me edit: You find out your Internet I.P. by visiting http://www.db-ip.com Your IP is displayed in the upper r/h corner of web-page. Use that IP to connect from "outside":followed by the opened port on DVR. eg.: 125.139.45.6:80 And, no, I am not in South Korea. EDIT: For testing purposes, If you want to try to connect from your "internet IP" (outside) from within the same network, you can go through an online proxy.

Thanks. I've tried searching for the option, but I can't find it. Do you know where it is? Just go to their website, all kinds of stuff, really seems to support their product unlike most www.hikvision.com
